NFL on HBO: Hard Knocks Could Make a Return Trip to New York
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson certainly did not try to dampen Jets fans' excitement at the possibility of their team hosting a return engagement of HBO's Hard Knocks.
After being cancelled last summer due to the NFL lockout, curiosity has been growing with football fans regarding which team the cable channel would choose to host this summers edition. There has been speculation that the cable channel is interested in having the Jets back on its behind-the-scenes show, especially since the Jets made the headline-grabbing trade for Tim Tebow last month.
Speaking to reporters at the grand opening of the NFL Shop at Draft store in New York City earlier today, Johnson said about the growing drumbeat about having his team appear on the show:

"I’ve heard that. We have yet to receive a formal invitation. When we do, we’ll take a look at it.
"
Johnson added that he needed to consult with his general manager Mike Tannenbaum and head coach Rex Ryan (who sounded less than enthused about the idea himself last week at the NFL's owners meetings) and that they needed to weigh the pros and cons:
"I think all those concerns, the positives and negatives, we'd have to look at, sit around the table and say yay or nay. It's not a perfect science. But we'd use our best judgment at that point.
"
One of Johnsons' players, Jets tight end Dustin Keller, seemed open to the possibility, telling reporters:
"With everything that's going on right now, there definitely couldn't be any more exposure than there already is. If there's something that's good for the team, why not do it?
"
At this point, I think most football fans are split into two camps. On one side are the people who are completely sick of the Jets, of Rex Ryan's act and wish they would just go away. On the other side, I think there are people who just can't get enough of Ryan's act and really hope HBO picks the Jets and that the Jets accept the invitation.
While I count myself in the latter group, I definitely understand those that count themselves in the former.
Let me know which camp you are in, and why, in the comments section.
