WrestleMania 28 Results: John Cena Needs The Rock Now More Than Ever
John Cena resorted to brash arrogance, and it cost him a match he had been waiting a year to win. In the end, The Rock came away victorious and John Cena came away a far more interesting figure, now for act 2.
Let me be a bit greedy because this is the perfect time to be such things. The image of The Rock taking WrestleMania is fresh in our minds and then comes the thought that this can't possibly be the end.
Sure, The Rock's year back in the WWE reeked of one-and-done madness, but this tale is just getting good.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
We were thrown for a loop on Sunday night, making the tired John Cena personae suddenly engaging to fans who once booed him for being a stale superstar.
Some may hate the ending, giving the greatest stage in sports entertainment to a part-timer, but I disagree and am still wearing the smile to prove it.
With a flurry of finishing moves, The Rock and John Cena put on a show that truly felt like it featured two legends. This was a match that only they could put on and finally the tired story caught up with the hype.
For years, we have been begging for an image shift for Cena, and we may very well have received that on Sunday. Sure, the fact that Cena tried to pull off a People's Elbow, only to awake the People's Champion for a finishing Rock Bottom was far from a monumental image shift, but it matters.
The man that always gets over resorted to arrogance and lost the match.
If there was ever going to be a passing of the torch, Sunday night was not going to be it. John Cena is far too hated as a stale figure and it would have been a forced moment that would have had fans nauseous.
However, an in-form Rock proved he still has years left as a part-timer, giving Cena time to win back fans with a shift in attitude that will make him far more palatable as the face of the WWE.
The Rock came back to invigorate this organization, and he did just that, but the job is far from over.
Cena showed a touch of intriguing possibilities in defeat, and now it's time to complete turn that heel and move on to a darker place.
Then, someday, The Rock can finally pass that torch to a figure that is beloved by all.
