WrestleMania 28 Results: Undertaker Buries the Attitude Era with Victory

Jesse ReedJun 4, 2018

You won't see another match like the one that occurred between The Undertaker and Triple H at WrestleMania 28.

The Undertaker buried the Attitude Era when he won the battle of attrition in a no-holds-barred Hell-in-the-Cell match against Triple H.

Both men are the last remaining wrestlers from that era, and I guarantee neither one will be willing to suffer through another ordeal like the one we just witnessed.

The match began with an epic stare-off.

The Undertaker—with his nasty bald head and disturbingly cold eyes—held Triple H's gaze for a full two minutes as they both waited for the cage to come down around them. It was a chilling scene, to be sure.

Once the cage was in place, the bludgeoning began in earnest.

Triple H was on the wrong end of things for most of the match, and the beginning was no different.

The Undertaker's heavy hands and relentless pursuit overwhelmed him, and it wasn't long before the action moved from the ring onto the hard floor below.

After a while, the Undertaker started using the metal steps as a weapon against Triple H, bashing him about the head and upper body with its sharp edges.

There wasn't any part of Triple H's head that didn't get smashed in during this portion of the fight.

After a while, the Undertaker threw him back into the ring. He then proceeded to lug one of the sets of stairs up into the ring to use it as a weapon inside the ring.

In the end, it almost ended up being his downfall.

Triple H momentarily recovered at one point and performed a vicious spine buster on The Undertaker that kept him on the ground for about five minutes. During that time, Triple H managed to find two metal chairs and a sledgehammer with which to beat him.

And beat him he did. Triple H hammered away with the metal chairs for a good five minutes. The whole time, Shawn Michaels tried to get him to just stop and cover up for the win, but he wasn't having any of it.

He ended up using the sledgehammer on the Undertaker a couple of times, seemingly knocking the huge man out. But when he finally went to cover for the win, the Undertaker miraculously shrugged him off at the last second.

Shawn Michaels ended up getting knocked out during the melee, and another ref had to run down into the ring. That ref also got knocked out.

The Undertaker miraculously came back to life after getting the hell beat out of him for a solid 10 minutes and caught Triple H in a "Hell's Gate." putting him to sleep.

From there, the action was fast and furious 'til the end.

In the end, the Undertaker found a way to win. He hit Triple H with a Tombstone Piledriver that finally led to a pin.

There were countless near-pins, brutal shots to both wrestlers and plenty of drama in this epic match. We won't see another one like this ever again.

It's the end of the Attitude Era, but boy, what a way to end!
