Jose Mourinho Linked to Manchester City: Why Mourinho Will Not Sign with City

Jose Mourinho will leave Real Madrid to replace Roberto Mancini as Manchester City manager, according to Caught Off Side and Spanish press reports.

"The Special One" is allegedly slated for the switch on June 30 after the current season. The news comes a day after Goal.com reported that Manchester City might sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

The whole news about Mourinho leaving Real Madrid for Manchester City is ridiculous, and Ronaldo moving to Manchester City falls under the same category.

Mourinho immediately threw cold water at the rumor, and denied having made any deal with Manchester City.

I deny that I or anyone on my behalf has reached an agreement with City," commented Mourinho, according to SkySports.  

"I have a contract and do not have to answer questions that have no foundation."

He has, however, "left the door open for a sensational return 'home' to Inter Milan after admitting he could manage them again in the future," Nadia Carminati of SkySports recently reported.

This Mourinho-to-Manchester City story is of similar ilk to the previous Mourinho-Chelsea speculations—it is not going to happen, and Mourinho has stated his intentions to remain with Real Madrid and La Liga.

Cristiano Ronaldo also stated his belief that his Portuguese boss will "continue" with the club. His current contract is set to expire in 2014.
