NFL Rumors: Why St. Louis Rams Would Be Wise to Trade Down Again
After a blockbuster deal that saw the St. Louis Rams trade their No. 2 overall pick to the Washington Redskins for a number of draft picks in return, No. 6 overall included, the Rams would be making another great move by once again trading down.
According to stltoday.com, head coach Jeff Fisher is considering trading his No. 6 overall pick.
""We would move down because we’d expect there to be a number of good players there," coach Jeff Fisher said. "Not because our guy wouldn’t be there (at No. 6). Clearly, we have a number of needs."

NFL Draft Trades We Wish Happened 😭

RBs Who Could Win 1st Rushing Title in 2026 🏆
If St. Louis was to trade down from the No. 6 pick, they could easily obtain several more picks in return for the later rounds as well as a mid-to-late first-rounder. That would greatly increase the team's depth if they can add more picks to the eight they already have.
As for talent further down in the first round, the Rams can still address their needs at wide receiver and cornerback.
According to Matt Miller's mock draft, St. Louis could still find talented wide receivers in Alshon Jeffrey (South Carolina), Michael Floyd (Notre Dame) and Kendall Bright (Baylor).
On the defensive side, cornerbacks Stephon Gilmore (South Carolina) and Dre Kirkpatrick (Alabama) could still be around as impact players the Rams could potentially draft later in the round.
In a dream scenario, maybe the Rams can somehow wrestle away both of the Cincinnati Bengals' first-round picks and obtain both a top receiver and corner back in the process.
This is a deep draft, and the Rams need take advantage of this, filling the several holes they have.
That's why St. Louis can sacrifice their pick for a later one once again and still make out like bandits while filling all the voids they need to fill now and for the future.
