Wrestlemania 28: Shawn Michaels Has Ruined Triple H vs. Undertaker

Brandon GalvinApr 1, 2012

Shawn Michaels may be “Mr. WrestleMania,” but he will distract from the greatness of Triple H vs. Undertaker Part 3 at WrestleMania 28.

WWE had a perfect storyline for this epic trilogy between Triple H and Undertaker. This time, it was Triple H who was going to be the prey for Undertaker. Undertaker wasn’t satisfied with just maintaining the streak last year. No, he was damn near crippled and this year he wanted to redeem himself against the Cerebral Assassin.

Unfortunately, that epic storyline has taken an extreme backseat, because the Heartbreak Kid had to get involved in the mayhem. He was thrust into this immense feud as the special guest referee for no reason.

Instead of wondering what Triple H and Undertaker will do to each other in Hell and questioning if Undertaker will be able to keep his streak alive for an insane 20th time, we’re left wondering who Michaels will sacrifice in Miami.

How is that at all appealing? How is that doing justice to two legends in Triple H and ‘Taker? More importantly, how is that where our main focus should be?

WrestleMania should be all about the streak, but this year, Michaels has stolen the spotlight. It’s pathetic. The man is the referee for no reason other than getting another name on the card. Instead of building towards the Hell in a Cell stipulation, Triple H threw it out there in a span of five minutes and instead, WWE built towards the inclusion of HBK.

Michaels may be a legend, but this is pathetic. He has no business being here and has crippled the anticipation of this match. If anything, WWE should have made this a triple threat match, which would have once again put the streak as the main focus.

Everyone would be happy with that, because it is a win-win for everybody. The streak would be the main focus, Triple H and Michaels would be able to share the stage with Undertaker and it would make sense storyline-wise.

Instead, Michaels will be wearing the zebra stripes and stealing the thunder of other performers. Instead of the fans focusing on the in-ring action and incredibly storytelling of Triple H and ‘Taker inside the Cell, the only thing that will matter is the last few minutes, when HBK dictates whether the streak lives on or rests in peace.

How disgusting.
