WrestleMania 28: Vince McMahon Is Paying Fans Back for Last Year's Blunder

Brandon GalvinMay 31, 2018

WWE and Vince McMahon abused our good faith last year.

When looking up and down at this year’s card, it's clear that Vince McMahon is paying the fans back for last year’s horrendous effort.

WrestleMania is supposed to be the grandest wrestling spectacle each year. Instead, WrestleMania 27 was used to set up this year’s event. How pathetic that we’ve had to wait a year to actually cash in for watching last year.

Aside from Triple H vs. Undertaker Part II, there wasn’t a single match or feud to write home about from WrestleMania 27.

WWE may have played The Streak to near perfection last year, but it was evident two months ago that they only used the match to build to this year.

McMahon thought that trotting The Rock out as the special host would overshadow a weak card, but it did not. Instead, he was only there to set up to the WrestleMania 28 dream match with Cena.

You win some, you lose some.

This year, WWE fans will receive their true WrestleMania moment. This card is stacked from top to bottom with a handful of main event-caliber matches, which include a whopping three dream matches.

Say what you want about Shawn Michaels’ forced inclusion, but Triple H vs. Undertaker Part III inside Hell in a Cell will be one of the most brutal, intense and memorable matches.

No, we won’t see a massive high-risk spot, but we won’t need to. Triple H, Undertaker and Michaels are three of the very best professional wrestling storytellers in history. The match will blow our minds.

Amazingly, it doesn’t even stop there.

The Rock vs. John Cena will be one of the most important matches of our lifetime. This is Generation vs. Generation a la Rock vs. Hulk Hogan 10 years ago.

Even if it happens again like Rock vs. Hogan at No Way Out 2003, it will never live up to the first encounter. We’ve been waiting a year for this match to go down—the anticipation is off the charts and unlike anything we’ve seen before.

On top of that, CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho, two of the smoothest and overall talented wrestlers ever, Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton vs. Kane with a couple of solid mid-card matches in the mix round out an impressive show on paper.

The star power and potential for classic match after classic match defines WrestleMania. This card is WrestleMania.

Finally, WrestleMania will deliver the goods and live up to the grand spectacle that it truly is. Fans, sit back and enjoy the ride, because it’s going to be one hell of a night.
