WrestleMania 28: John Cena Has Surpassed The Rock as the Real People's Champion
With WrestleMania 28 just a few hours away from taking over popular culture, it’s time for the Internet Wrestling Community to come to grips with the truth.
John Cena is the PG-Era version of The Rock and in turn, the NEW people’s champion.
While the millions of fans that frequent the message boards, dirt sheets and other social networking sites that allow wrestling banter will argue this point, they are trying to view the situation through rose-colored glasses.

Whether the generation that was dubbed the Attitude Ear can deal with it or not, that is not how the WWE is run anymore. Serious moral changes behind the scenes have given us the best generation of wrestling in history, and WrestleMania 28 will further prove the worth of the Reality Era.
Part of being a wrestling fan is going against the grain, so when Cena constantly wins and is viewed as the WWE’s hand-picked Superman, it’s understandable that some fans will turn against him. The IWC loves the Stone Cold Steve Austin or CM Punk-type wrestlers that rebel against authority.
People want to root for the underdog, not the New York Yankees. Wrestling is no different!
As much as it will hurt to hear, the IWC is the minority. The vast majority of the wrestling fans in this world are not Attitude-Era fans, but instead are younger children that still are enamored with the sport. Every day that passes sees more and more of the fans that loved the WWE years ago leaving the sport as a whole because they outgrow it.
WWE constantly thrives by catering to the younger crowd and keeping the youth as the main focus. The WWE knows that once it has a fan hooked they are locked in for the long haul, so aiming at kids by letting John Cena constantly win is the equivalent of re-creating the 2012 version of Hulk Hogan.
Cena will win at WrestleMania because the WWE knows the fans that hate Superman will watch Raw the next night no matter what. While The Rock can return to the movies win or loss, Cena’s already-tough task of getting respect from the fans will be even tougher if he loses.
John Cena is the people’s champion, whether the IWC likes it or not.
