WrestleMania 28: CM Punk and Chris Jericho Will Steal the Show

Adam WellsMar 30, 2012

On a card filled with stars and potentially great matches, CM Punk and Chris Jericho will be the talk of the wrestling world when WrestleMania 28 is over.

Punk and Jericho are two of the best workers in WWE right now. They are as technically sound as anyone in the company, with the exception of Daniel Bryan.

They have been building this feud on how much it means to be the best in the world and WWE champion, though they did get sidetracked in recent weeks with talk about alcohol, drugs and premarital sex.

Getting back to the main point of the rivalry, all this is about is CM Punk and Chris Jericho wanting to decide who deserves to be called the best.

Punk says that he is the best wrestler in the world. Jericho says that he is the best in the world at everything he does.

Considering how the WWE championship has been treated in recent years, having a match with two stars who want to prove they are the best is a refreshing change of pace.

Some might be concerned that Punk and Jericho can't possibly put together a match that will prove who is the best in the world. One technical gaffe in the match will have cynics screaming that they can't claim to be the best.

Ignoring that, Punk and Jericho have used this platform to set the stage for an epic encounter. The WWE title should feel like a big deal. The two men fighting for it believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are better than everyone else.

They are going to have the time to tell their story. The crowd is going to eat it up, and when all is said and done, the world will be talking about how these two performers managed to overshadow The Rock vs. John Cena and a Hell In a Cell match.
