WrestleMania 28 Predictions: Recent Momentum Will Lead to Daniel Bryan Victory
Daniel Bryan has done a terrific job with his heel turn since winning the World Heavyweight Championship and should be rewarded with a WrestleMania victory over Sheamus to continue his extended title reign.
During the early days of Bryan's run with the belt, fans were simply happy a fresh face was being given a chance to control the Smackdown brand after a year dominated by Randy Orton and Mark Henry. Once the initial interest faded, however, he began to struggle.
The crowd wasn't getting involved in his matches and most of the champion's promos fell flat. At that point, it appeared Bryan was going to be a flash in the pan, likely to fade back into the mid-card scene before long.

Then, he began to turn heel and everything changed. The WWE Universe turned on him following several weeks of underhanded tactics and insults, typical moves that are always highly successful.
Since completing the change of his character, Bryan has been tremendous. He's taken to the role nicely and keeps adding new aspects to it such as his “Yes! Yes! Yes!” chant and pre-match kiss with diva AJ, which always draws heat from the crowd.
He's already defended his title at the two previous pay-per-views, Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, but doing so at the year's biggest event would prove the company has faith in him to be a main event champion moving forward.
On the flip side, Sheamus hasn't received a good enough build since winning the Rumble match to warrant the belt changing hands. The audience was in love with him after the marquee victory, but the original boost has died off.
Instead of being developed into an unstoppable monster, he's been booked in a lot of tag team battles and other no-push matches. Any momentum he did have was eliminated as a result.
That leaves Bryan, who has a lot of momentum heading to Miami as the favorite heading into the match. Having accomplished a lot over the past few months, now's not the time to wipe it all away by making him look weak on the grandest stage of them all.
It probably won't be a clean victory to retain, but Bryan will use his recent hot streak to stay atop the blue brand for at least another month.
