NFL Draft Rumors: 8 Teams Who Have No Clue Who They'll Draft in Round 1
The 2012 NFL draft is nearing closer and this is the year that will forever be remembered for last-second first-round decisions.
The history of the NFL will be changed when the draft kicks off on April 26, but which franchises will flourish while others fail remains to be seen.
With so much talent in this year's draft, it's hard to believe that these teams don't have a definitive player in mind yet—but it's true.
With less than a month before the draft, there are plenty of questions to be answered.
Regardless of the outcome, the 2012 draft promises to be the most memorable of our time.
At No.19, the Chicago Bears Have Many Holes to Fill
1 of 8The Chicago Bears are in quite the predicament when it comes to the upcoming 2012 NFL draft.
After a 11-5 record in 2010, the Bears fell to 8-8 in 2011.
The franchise is now faced with the decision to bring some youth to their aging defense or draft a compliment to new receiver Brandon Marshall on offense.
In 2011, the Bears finished 28th in pass defense, which they must improve on because they play against Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions four times a season.
Whatever their decision may be, it won't be an easy one. Good thing for the Bears, they can really do no wrong, as they need holes on both sides of the ball plugged.
With the No. 16 Pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the New York Jets Select???
2 of 8How could the New York Jets be avoided?
It's no secret the the Jets need some offensive help, but which position should they take—running back or wide receiver?
With the locker room in "disarray," they need an instant-impact stud.
No matter who the pick may be, it could be the last first-round pick Rex Ryan makes as head coach of the team.
It may come down to "best available" for the Jets in the first round, as it increasingly seems like they need a miracle to resolve all of their turmoil.
This is the NFL's best soap opera at the moment. Fireworks to ensue.
It Seems That the Dallas Cowboys Are in the Doldrums with Pick No. 14
3 of 8Despite being a disappointment in 2011, the Dallas Cowboys have improved in free agency this offseason, despite being hit with a salary cap violation.
Now it seems that owner Jerry Jones wants to play it safe with the No. 14 pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
Only time will tell what Jones decides to do with his team, as fans may have to wait until a war-room trade goes down in Dallas.
The Cowboys need to improve their offensive line and will most likely try to trade down and make a sensible selection.
Miami—We Have a Football Problem
4 of 8The Miami Dolphins are quickly becoming the laughing stock of the NFL.
With the No. 8 pick in the NFL draft, the Dolphins need to make a splash, but may end up looking like a fish out of water.
The Dolphins missed out on every free agent under the sun this season as things are looking grim for the franchise.
So, who do the Dolphins take in the first round?
New head coach Joe Philbin is used to a high-powered offense with a great quarterback, but that's exactly what he lacks in Miami.
Problem is, by the time their pick rolls around, Miami will only be left with taking a stab in the dark on rookie Ryan Tannehill, who is recovering from injury at the moment.
The gamble seems too much for the Dolphins right now, as they need a sure thing at No. 8.
The Jacksonville Jaguars Are so Bad on Offense They Need 3 No. 7 Picks
5 of 8The Jacksonville Jaguars had the best running back in the NFL in 2011 in Maurice Jones-Drew, but they owned the absolute worst passing game.
Who's to blame? It's not like then-rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert had reliable targets.
Sure, he only had a completion rate of 50.8 percent, but he was a rookie. Being thrown to the wolves is no easy task for a rookie, as Gabbert was precise proof of that in 2011.
Now it's time for the team to build around MJD and Gabbert and give their offense an added dimension. The team lost 11 games in 2011, but five of those losses were by seven points or less. Points are a must for this team.
A receiver is what they need, but who will they take? Will Justin Blackmon be there? Is Michael Floyd the next best thing? Is Alshon Jeffery out of the picture?
Needless to say, April 26 is a make-or-break day for the Jaguars franchise.
Could the Cleveland Browns Be in a Worse Position at No. 4?
6 of 8Good thing for the Cleveland Browns, they have two first-round picks in 2012.
Bad thing for the Browns—they stink and there's not much to be hopeful for in 2012.
Anytime fans are making videos like this—the franchise has either reached rock bottom or have been in the seemingly bottomless pit for far too long.
At 4-12 in 2011, the team was just good enough to miss out on a chance to draft Robert Griffin III or Andrew Luck.
Now the Browns are sitting at No. 4 with not a clue on who to draft. As for the No. 22 pick—that's just a consolation prize for their first mistake.
The Washington Redskins Will Get a Franchise Quarterback—but Whom?
7 of 8The Washington Redskins have already done their job by acquiring the No. 2 pick from the St. Louis Rams.
Now they have to anxiously wait for the Indianapolis Colts to decide who the quarterback of their future will be.
Redskins' fans should be happy with this scenario though, as they have the easy part of the equation.
Whether it be Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III, the Redskins just got better.
"It's Up in the Air" for the Indianapolis Colts on Who to Pick No. 1
8 of 8Since 2010, everyone that knows anything about football has expected quarterback Andrew Luck to be selected No. 1 in the NFL draft.
The question was who was the fortunate franchise that gets to choose him and change their situation for the better?
In a wicked twist of fate, it just so happens to be that the Indianapolis Colts hold the No. 1 pick in the 2012 draft and will select Luck. Or will they?
Colts' owner Jim Irsay doesn't even know. One thing is for sure, it will either be Luck or quarterback Robert Griffin III.
The last time the Colts possessed the No. 1 pick and had to choose between two quarterbacks, they got it right in 1998.
Will they hit the jackpot again?
NFL fans are in for an abundance of suspense until NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announces the No. 1 overall pick on April 26.
