WrestleMania 28: Why John Cena Needs to Turn Heel on The Rock
John Cena is the face of a stale sport.
As WrestleMania looms, itโs painfully obvious that the WWE creative team has been asleep behind the wheel of late.
Pitting Undertaker against Triple H in a โHell in a Cellโ match is absurd. The injury-riddled former stars are a combined 89! The vast majority of the current WWE stars will be wrestling so one of two suits can claim they own both Raw and SmackDown. Oh, the excitement!

What's Next For Chad Gable?
Then there is Rock vs. John Cena.
The Rock is making his return to the ring in his hometown of Miami, and the crowd will no doubt be in his favor.
Thatโs why the heel turn has to be kicked in.
Cena is the poster boy for WWE and has always been a โgood guyโ of sorts. He sells millions of dollarsโ worth of merchandise with a heroic sort of persona. There isnโt an evil bone in his body, or so thatโs what we are led to believe.
Give it up already!
With the crowd booing him vehemently either way, the WWE might as well lay the groundwork for a heel turn that puts Cena in a negative light for the first time in his career. The Rock is the only wrestler thatโs more popular and known worldwide than Cena. Have Cena do something out of line to anger the masses, and let the fireworks begin.
Remember when the wildly popular Hulk Hogan turned heel in the WCW? It turned out to be the glory days of the company.
Sure Cena isnโt the Hulk, but heโs as close as any in todayโs WWE. The company needs a shocking moment; they need something that will make Twitter explode. If Cena turned heel, it would be the most outrageous decision in the history of WrestleMania, even more so than when โStone Coldโ Steve Austin turned.
The table needs to be set now to ensure the next PPV will be worth the purchase. I canโt think of a better way to drum up excitement then turning the beloved Cena heel.
Rise above the hate? More like sink below it.ย
