Former WWE and TNA Star Denies Involvement in WWE Network Show, Talks TNA, More

Michael PrunkaJun 7, 2018

“This Very Ring” on PW 24/7 Radio with Brian Kendrick

Brian Kendrick on the TNA X-Division: I think Austin Aries is fantastic and he’s ultra-talented. I think that the division is far from what it once was designed to be. They have four men in total, if I’m not mistaken. It’s between him, Zema Ion, Kid Kash, and Tony Neese. I might be forgetting a name or two, but with the Machine Guns probably going back to tag teaming, that’s the whole division.

Austin Aries is incredible, but I don’t think the division is what it once was or could be. I think the X-Division is what should carry the show, especially guys like the Machine Guns, Amazing Red, like Jay Lethal, like Sonjay Dutt, AJ Styles, and Christopher Daniels. It used to be the reason why people would tune in but now it’s more of an acrobat.

On the end of his TNA run: There just isn’t enough focus on our style. I wasn’t just sitting at home for four months; I was pitching ideas regularly and getting ignored. They weren’t responding to my emails. The idea I was pushing for in the last few weeks I was there was to bring in Paul London. The tag team division needed help and I thought Paul London and I would be a great help. Once the Machine Guns were up and running, that’d be a natural feud.

Whenever I mentioned the idea to Mr. Prichard, he’d give me responses like “yeah, yeah” and I felt like I was wasting his time. So, I guess they like the tag team division the way it is now instead of having Paul London and I in there. Shelly Martinez had pitched an idea to me, which I liked, where she’d be the Courtney Love to my Kurt Cobain.

More or less, she’d brainwash the young naïve kid who just wants to wrestle and isn’t very social and she’d pimp me out. Her and I filmed videos and sent them to TNA and they didn’t respond to those, either, so I asked to be let go.

On his rumored involvement with the WWE’s cruiserweight show: As far as doing any show with the WWE in the future, I haven’t been contacted directly by them. I’ve talked, through friends, and have been putting out feelers and no, not right now. Maybe in the future. I hope this network happens. I hope they run a cruiserweight show. And, heck, I hope I’m on it! As of right now, I’m not booked for anything.

Brian Kendrick also discusses Jesse Sorenson’s injury, his current standing with the WWE and thoughts on the WWE network, his conspiracy theory regarding the moon, and much more! You can find the entire interview, as well as countless additional hours of free wrestling content, only on PW 24/7 Radio.
