John Cena vs. the Rock: Bold Predictions for Epic WWE WrestleMania 28 Main Event

Brian MaziqueJun 7, 2018

Two of the most popular wrestlers in WWE history will clash. Ce-Nation vs the millions...and millions of the Rock's fans. This has to be epic...right?

Seeing them in the ring will certainly be, but the jury is still out on how great the action will be. That is—only part of the appeal.

This is major star power, plus, Cena is at a bit of a crossroad in his WWE career. There is nowhere to go but down as a face, but he could make a lateral move as a heel.

We have speculated so many times that the heel-turn was coming, but it would seem, this is a logical time to do it.

With that seed planted, here is my prediction for the way this match will transpire:

The Introductions

John Cena is introduced first, recognizing the pecking order, and that he falls behind the Rock in that regard.

Both will receive a huge pop, but Cena's will be stained with the "Cena Sucks" chants from the ungrateful and short-sighted Cena haters.

There will be a nice stare-down to allow the crowd to take in the spectacle of both men in the ring together. This moment also makes for some awesome photographs. Oh yeah—please believe the cameras will be flickering.

The Action

The Rock will fire the first shot, and he'll get the drop on Cena. The Rock will control the first part of the match, with at least one mock of Cena's "You Can't See Me." But The Rock will have to take his lumps as well.

We will watch Cena's strength on full display. He'll hit The Rock with plenty of power slams and gain momentum.

The Momentum Shifts

The inevitable momentum shift takes place as the action spills outside of the ring. The Rock pulls a reversal that allows him to seize control. As the Rock gets back into the ring, Cena follows.

The Rock will brace for a groggy Cena, mock his signature gesture again and hit him with the Attitude Adjustment—Rock style.

The Rock goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out. He isn't going out like that.

Again, he pulls another momentum shifting reversal, and gives the Rock an Attitude Adjustment, but the Rock kicks out as well.

The Pivotal Moment

Cena turns to the crowd looking for support, but he'll face the "Cena Sucks" signs and ask why he is being booed. Just as he does that, the Rock will sneak in behind him, tap him on his shoulder and deliver the Rock Bottom.

The night wouldn't be complete without the Most Electrifying Move in Sports Entertainment...yes, the People's Elbow will be dropped.

The Rock for the cover, 1, 2, 3 and the Rock is the winner.

The Heel-Turning Aftermath

With that, prepare for John Cena's promo about being under-appreciated and taken for granted his whole career.

He's tired of being Mr. Goody Goody, from now on, he's looking out for himself only. Cena set this up perfectly with his awesome rant on Raw, face to face with the Rock. I know we've heard it time and time again, but this truly is the best time for Cena to turn.

Believe it or not, he'll probably pick up even more fans by turning.

Now John Cena lovers, don't get mad, I'm just the messenger.
