WWE Wrestlemania 28: Why There Is Nothing to Gain from a Rock Victory

In the WWE, it is sometimes easy to predict the winner of a match. There are also times that it is truly uncertain who will win.

In John Cena and Rock's match at WrestleMania 28, the outcome is still uncertain. However, there is nothing to gain from a Rock victory.

Cena's biggest argument against the Rock has been that he is there for WWE fans every week, whereas the Rock is not. The Rock is now a movie star and will most likely go back into a hiatus from the WWE and continue his movie career after WrestleMania.

Cena will also most likely get back into the WWE Championship picture, and a loss at WrestleMania will hurt his credibility as an instant contender.

The Rock is already a legend. A loss to Cena will not hurt him in any way. He will still be a legend and have the support of his fans. A victory for Cena will truly boost him up to legendary status, which he deserves. 

Cena's angle for this fight is that this is his life and he is fighting for his life. If he fails to win, he will appear weak and suffer a serious setback in his character.

He has been an everyday wrestler for the past 10 years, and it would look bad if he loses to someone who has wrestled only once in the last seven years (even if it is The Rock).

Cena has put in the time and the work to win this match. He has carried the company on his back for the last several years. While the Rock has put in the time in his career, he has been missing and absent for a while.

The new face of the WWE would appear weak with a loss and it would not benefit the company to have a guy who is not going to be apart of the company on a regular basis be the one that beats him. The WWE shouldn't want to hurt the superstar who has been carrying them for a long time now.

The Rock has been confirmed to appear at WrestleMania 29. Could there be a potential rematch between Cena and Rock?

If they do have a rematch at WrestleMania 29, a Cena win at WrestleMania 28 makes more sense. Cena could win this year because he will suffer from a loss and Rock will not.

Then Rock could win next year in the rematch. This way, Cena does not lose any credibility and The Rock will have a victory on Cena as well.
