WWE WrestleMania 28: WWE Diva in Line for Big Push Following the PPV

Drake OzJun 1, 2018

The WWE creative team has done a superb job of building up to to what should be an epic tag team encounter featuring Maria Menounos and Kelly Kelly taking on Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres at WrestleMania 28.

Totally kidding, guys and gals. That’s called sarcasm.

While we could have gotten a great match like Beth vs. Natalya at Mania that actually mattered, injuries, the creative team and unfortunate personal circumstances (still keeping Kharma in my thoughts) have prevented that from happening. The Divas tag team match will probably be a disaster, or at least close to it.

Good news on the Divas front, though: An absent WWE Diva may be returning soon for a big post-WrestleMania push.

From F4Wonline.com (via WrestleZone.com)

"

As reported earlier, Layla returned to action at FCW and impressed WWE officials with her return performance. F4Wonline.com is reporting Layla has been seriously discussed to get a big push after WrestleMania 28.

"

I never really realized how much I liked Layla until she got injured early last year and the Divas division slowly started falling apart.

While Layla certainly isn’t the next Lita or Trish Stratus, I find her to be more entertaining than just about any Diva in the WWE. She’s a better wrestler than any Divas not named Beth Phoenix, Kharma or Natalya, she’s got a ton of charisma, she can actually work the mic and she’s proven that she can perform as both a heel and a baby face.

The Divas division should welcome Layla back with open arms because she might actually be able to make it interesting again and could also give Beth the new challenger that she’s been searching for.

The bottom line is that the WWE needs to do something, anything, to give the Divas division a boost, and Layla is one of the few realistic options who would be able to do that.

I’m all for having the creative team give Layla a big push, preferably as a baby face, after WrestleMania 28, and I would even love to see her make her return at the pay-per-view itself.

If the WWE can manage to get Layla and Kharma back within the next couple of months, the future of the Divas division is suddenly looking much brighter.

Note: As part of the new WWE blog, I'll be asking all of the B/R wrestling readers for questions for a new mailbag that I will post on Fridays. It will be a slideshow featuring 10-20 questions and answers on a wide range of topics. You can submit questions either through Formspring or Twitter, and the best ones will be answered in the B/R mailbag.
