WWE News: Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels Would Outshine The Rock vs. John Cena
The Rock and John Cena have been feuding for an entire year leading up to their enormous WrestleMania clash on Sunday, but they are already being overshadowed by Triple H and Shawn Michaels. That storyline would make Rock vs. Cena seem like child's play.
Justin LaBar of WrestleZone.com reports the WWE has begun making tentative plans for the longtime friends to have a similar extended buildup for next year's WrestleMania main event.
"It is believed that the current plan in mind is to run some kind of finish to the Hell in a Cell match that causes Triple H to call out Shawn Michaels the next night on RAW.
The plan that is circulating behind the scenes in WWE is that Triple H and HBK would have a verbal confrontation that leads to a match at WrestleMania 29.

Even though there will come a point when Vince McMahon must stop leaning so heavily on veteran talents to carry the WrestleMania card, there's no way the company could pass up on a feud with as much potential as Triple H against Michaels.
One of the biggest problems during The Rock's feud with Cena has been a lack of previous storylines to build off of. Prior to Rocky costing Cena a chance at the WWE title last year, there wasn't much interaction between the two superstars.
Their recent promos, while still entertaining, have become repetitive. Rock disses Cena for dressing like a bowl of cereal and his “lady parts,” while the Cenation leader calls out the movie star for abandoning WWE and only showing up to help his personal brand.
That's the risk of scheduling a main event a full year in advance. Even though The Rock was gone for months at a time, followed by a quick TitanTron appearance, the feud has lost some steam with one week left until the big matchup.
Michaels and Triple H provide a lot more history to develop a new angle from. The report seems to indicate that the Undertaker will come out on top at WrestleMania, which will leave the chief operating officer mad at Michaels, the match's special guest referee.
There have already been signs of this happening on Raw. Undertaker has been attempting to separate the two guys by saying that Michaels is the better superstar, leaving Triple H unhappy.
Since the two are such close friends in real life, they would likely spend the next couple months coming up with ways to make the feud even more memorable once they returned to weekly television. With two creative minds working together, they would surely come up with unique material.
That's something the People's Champion and Cena couldn't provide. If they talked at all in between The Rock's appearances, it would be a surprise.
The D-Generation X buddies would have such a strong foundation to build off of that it would be nearly impossible for their feud to fail. And now that The Rock and Cena have exposed the flaws of an extended storyline, they can avoid those over the next 12 months.
It's important to remember that the match hasn't been confirmed yet, but the rumor will certainly make the next week a lot more interesting.
