WrestleMania 28: Insane Hype Will Save The Rock vs. John Cena Main Event
There seems to be a cloud of dread looming over The Rock vs. John Cena match at WrestleMania 28, as if the entire year of build and hype will make the match itself feel like a disappointment.
Anyone who feels that way is mistaken. In fact, hype and anticipation are the reasons that this match will be one of the most memorable in recent WWE history.
In today's WWE, with so many shows bunched closely together, matches and feuds don't have the time required to develop organically. Everything has to be rushed because the calendar brings us a pay-per-view seemingly every three weeks.

The company tried a different tact with Rock vs. Cena by setting the match up one year in advance. Sure, Cena did other things in the meantime, but most of it was forgettable. In spite of everything, this WrestleMania match against Rock was always lurking behind the scenes.
Fans have been waiting to see this match for years. This rivalry goes back much further than just one year ago, when The Rock called out Cena after he was announced as the guest host for WrestleMania 27.
Cena started the whole thing for real when he talked about how Rock was a phony because he left the business to star in movies.
Rock took shots at Cena at the Hall of Fame ceremony in 2008, when he said soldiers were being tortured by being chained to seats to watch The Marine.
All of that led to the moment when these two agreed to a match at WrestleMania 28. We have had six weeks of television build to get us ready to see the biggest match in recent WWE history.
The fans in attendance and at home will be ready to explode when the time comes to see these two lock horns. It may not end up being the greatest wrestling match of all time, but the hype makes it easier for these two to sell the importance of the match.
It has been a long time since a match was this important in the WWE. All we have to do is figure out who will win. Rock and Cena have taken care of everything else.
