WWE Raw Preview: 5 Things You Need to Look for in Tonight's Episode (March 26)

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

It's time to go home.

Not literally, of course. But tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw is the go-home show, the final Raw episode before WrestleMania 28.

It's the last chance (not including Smackdown, obviously) for the WWE to create some late hype and excitement for its biggest pay-per-view of the year, and the show has to deliver from start to finish.

Naturally, that depends largely on what we'll see on tonight's Raw, though. So, what exactly is gonna go down on the last Raw before WrestleMania 28?

Here are five things you need to know for the March 26 edition of Monday Night Raw.

5. Is Alberto Del Rio Really Not Going to Appear at WrestleMania 28?

1 of 5

Alberto Del Rio made some very interesting comments this weekend regarding the WWE's plans for him at WrestleMania 28.

From F4Wonline.com (via WrestlingInc.com):

"

Alberto Del Rio was doing media for WWE in Puerto Rico this weekend and said that he is under the impression that he will not be performing at WrestleMania 28.

Del Rio said at one point, he was going to face Randy Orton and most recently plans called for him to be on Team Laurinaitis. Del Rio said he had just been told he's no longer in the Team Laurinaitis vs. Team Long match.

"

Something we have to remember: Del Rio is a heel, and heels lie. So, this could be just his way of throwing the fans off before he is indeed actually added to Team Johnny,

Given that ADR was one of the first superstars to voice his support for John Laurinaitis, I think it would make perfect sense for him to join the heel squad at WrestleMania.

We should find out tonight if Del Rio was lying or he really isn't going to be competing at WrestleMania.

4. Is Chris Jericho Going to Antagonize CM Punk Via Titantron Yet Again?

2 of 5

The WWE Championship feud between Chris Jericho and CM Punk has had some incredible build over the last couple of weeks, but what's made it even more remarkable is that Jericho is managing to generate ridiculous amounts of heat via Titantron.

The fact that Jericho is ripping Punk and his family without actually appearing in the arena in person is making it really easy for us to hate Jericho and to cheer Punk.

But what will happen tonight? I think the WWE creative team has done an excellent job with this feud because Y2J has managed to avoid Punk over the last couple of weeks, but I can't help but wonder if that's what's going to happen again on tonight's episode.

I think it would make for a great story to see Jericho cut a promo via Titantron again tonight. It makes him look like a coward, and it will give us even more of a reason to see these two finally face each other at WrestleMania.

I guess what will actually happen, however, all just depends on what the creative team wants to do, though.

3. The Newest Members of Team Teddy and Team Johnny?

3 of 5

According to PWInsider.com (via WrestlingInc.com), The Miz will likely be revealed as the final member of Team Johnny on tonight's Raw.

Given that The Miz still has no WrestleMania match, that makes sense, but it might surprise you who could be revealed as the final member of Team Teddy. Perhaps tonight as well?

"

Mick Foley and The Miz have been going back and forth via Twitter after Foley teased that he may join Teddy Long’s team at WrestleMania. Foley tweeted over the weekend:

“Guess it’s about time I listen to some of these voicemails from Teddy Long. Wonder what he wants. Catch you all tomorrow.”

Foley followed up with the following joke, but his initial tweet was enough to get a reaction from The Miz:

“No big deal. Teddy was just hoping I had Buff Bagwell’s numberapparently, it’s pretty important.”

Miz, who still does not have a match at WrestleMania and has been petitioning for a spot on Team Laurinaitis, replied to foley:

“Hey @realMickFoley quit trying to make yourself relevant again. Unlike u I don’t settle I make things happen.”

Foley responded with:

“Yes, @MikeTheMiz you ARE awesome…as a character in my new children’s book, in which The Miz learns a valuable holiday lesson from @CMPunk”

"
It certainly appears as if both The Miz and Foley are hinting that they'll be participants in the Team Teddy versus Team Johnny match at WrestleMania. But will it actually happen?
This could all be nothing more than a tease, but I guess we'll have to tune into tonight's Raw to find out if the Hardcore Legend and the Awesome One truly are Mania bound.

2. What Will Go Down Between Triple H and Shawn Michaels?

4 of 5

According to PWTorch.com, The Undertaker is not advertised to appear on tonight's Raw, and a discussion between Triple H and Shawn Michaels is scheduled to take place.

While we've already watched a ton of promos involving these three, I'm incredibly interested in seeing what Michaels and Triple H have in store for us tonight.

Last week's Raw ended with Undertaker telling Triple H that HBK was better than him again and Michaels reacting to Taker's comment with a huge smile on his face.

What does Triple H have to say about that? Does he think Undertaker is complimenting Michaels to get Michaels on his side? Does Triple H think that his best friend is going to screw him over at WrestleMania?

I don't know, but I can't wait to find out.

1. Will the Rock and John Cena Get Physical?

5 of 5

There has been all sorts of speculation about whether The Rock and John Cena will/should get physical prior to their match at WrestleMania 28.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestleZone.com) reported several weeks ago that the plan was for The Rock and Cena to finally come to blows on the March 26 edition of Raw.

For those who don't have a calendar, tonight is March 26.

With one last in-ring showdown likely taking place between Cena and The Rock, it should be interesting to see if these two superstars really do get physical or if the WWE decides to hold off on any contact between them until WrestleMania on Sunday.

While I wouldn't be all that upset if they started fighting and were quickly ripped away from each other, I think the best thing to do is keep The Rock from touching Cena (and vice versa) until they meet in the ring for what is arguably the biggest match ever on Sunday.

Note: As part of the new WWE blog, I'll be asking all of the B/R wrestling readers for questions for a new mailbag that I will post on Fridays. It will be a slideshow featuring 10-20 questions and answers on a wide range of topics. You can submit questions either through Formspring or Twitter, and the best ones will be answered in the B/R mailbag.
