WWE WrestleMania 28: Predictions You Can Take to the Bank
When events like WrestleMania 28 come around, it’s really hard to predict what will happen. WWE creative changes their mind like a little kid deciding whether he or she is hungry or not, so what we think will or should happen is not always the case.
It’s no secret that WWE loves to throw its fans a curveball and give them something that they don’t see coming. You can gather all your friends in one room and make predictions as to what will happen during certain matches or how the storylines will climax. Nine times out of 10, no one’s predictions ever come true.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
You have to often wonder how long it takes creative to sit down in a room and write out all possible scenarios until they decide on one.
I am going to pretend I’m a WWE writer and give my take on what I think will happen during this, on the grandest stage of them all, from SunLife Stadium in Miami. You can agree or disagree—that’s why we’re fans—but this is what I see happening at Wrestlemania 28:
Divas Tag Match: Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres vs. Maria Menounos and Kelly Kelly
I see this one being not much of a match. I think Kelly Kelly and Menounos (who has some potential to be a good performer if she got a little more training) will get a little bit of offense in, but Beth and Eve will prevail, with Eve pinning Kelly clean.
Randy Orton vs. Kane
I don't know why this match is even on the card. I can see this match any week on SmackDown. I guess the WWE had to give these two something to do, although I would have rather seen Kane take on Zack Ryder in a falls count anywhere or last man standing match.
Speaking of which, I see a back and forth match between these two, and I see the referee being knocked out at some point. Just as Kane gets ready to do a chokeslam on Orton, Ryder comes out of the crowd, hits Kane with a chair or a lead pipe, and runs.
A staggered Kane gets to his feet, and Orton gives an RKO and pins him. Ryder tries to give Kane a second shot outside the ring, but Kane grabs him and chokeslams him on the floor, setting up a revenge feud.
Team Laurinaitis vs. Team Long
Raw GM John Laurinaitis and SmackDown GM Theodore Long will each lead a team into battle. The winning GM gets full control over Raw and SmackDown.
David Otunga, Mark Henry, Christian and three others vs. Santino Marella, R-Truth and four others:
I have no idea what to think of this match. I am kind of perplexed because you have virtually half of the main players on each roster in this match, when they could be doing other things on their own on this card. I guess creative couldn't come up with anything for some of these guys to do.
I see Miz inserting himself in this match when someone on Team Long gets injured, taking out Santino with a skull-crushing finale and getting the pin. However, that doesn't end the match.
There will be a surprise appearance by a certain chairman, who will tell the crowd that since his son-in-law is competing tonight, he has been given authority by the Board of Directors to restart the match. After a brief commotion, R-Truth pins Miz to get the win for Team Long. Laurinaitis and Long argue with Vince, and in anger, Laurinaitis shoves Vince to the mat.
Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show
I think Show will get the upper hand early, but Rhodes will give a surprise showing and outsmart the big man. Just as he gets ready to go for the Cross Rhodes, his brother Dustin shows up on the upper ramp staring at him. Rhodes will be distracted and Show will give his big knockout punch and pin him for the belt.
After the match, the brothers will stare each other down and then they will fight, with Dustin getting the upper hand. They stop, and Dustin tries to make peace but eats a Cross Rhodes.
World Heavyweight Championship: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus
I think this will be an intense, back-and-forth match. Bryan will dominate most of the match, then Sheamus manages to mount a big comeback but gets caught in the LeBell Lock. He is about ready to tap but manages to get to the ropes.
They tangle but the ref is knocked out. Byran tries to hit Sheamus with the belt, but Sheamus ducks and hits the Brogue Kick for the win and title.
WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho
Punk comes to the ring with Living Colour playing his theme song live. He and Jericho stare each other down in the ring, then they start punching each other. The match goes back and forth in fast and furious action.
Jericho gets the upper hand, knocking Punk down with a few clotheslines. He goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Punk quickly gets out of it. Jericho swings and misses, then Punk gets him up for the GTS and Jericho gets out of it.
After a brief tangle, Jericho goes outside for a chair and gets to the ring, and as the ref tries to get it from him, Punk drop kicks him, and the momentum knocks the ref out of the ring.
Punk hits the GTS and tries to pin him, but the ref is still knocked out. The ref staggers to his feet. Jericho hits a low blow on Punk and hits the Codebreaker, but Punk kicks out. Jericho goes down to punch Punk, but he gets locked in the Anaconda Vice. He has him in it for quite a while, but Jericho does not tap.
They tangle again, and Jericho throws Punk into the ref. Punk manages to get Jericho in the Anaconda Vice again, but suddenly Lord Tensai runs to the ring and attacks Punk. He quickly runs out, when the ref gets to his feet. Jericho hits the Codebreaker and pins Punk. Jericho is the new champion.

The Undertaker vs. Triple H
Taker, HBK and Triple H make spectacular entrances that take about 20-25 minutes total. They both brutalize each other, throwing each other into the cage walls and doing very little technical wrestling inside.
Suddenly, Taker gets the upper hand, pulverizing Triple H. HBK tells Taker to stop, but Taker shoves him aside. HBK pulls Taker off, angering him. Taker starts to go after HBK, but Triple H shoves Taker from behind, knocking him into HBK. They both climb to the top of the cage and start beating each other.
Taker choke slams Triple H on top of the cage, and he is weakened. Taker and Triple H are then back in the ring, and he tries to give a weakened Triple H the Last Ride but loses his balance because he is also worn down. HBK gets to his feet and teases giving Taker a super kick but doesn’t.
As Taker stares at HBK, Triple H recovers and comes from behind, turns Taker around and kicks him in the gut, then gives him a Pedigree. Triple H tries to pin him, but Taker kicks out. HBK gets out of the ring as Taker and Triple H continue beating each other up.
Taker gives Triple H a Last Ride and tries to leave, but Triple H recovers and catches him. Taker then tries to get out of the cage, but HBK slams the door in his face. Taker is knocked out briefly. A surprised Triple H looks at Taker, looks at HBK and looks back at Taker. He could pin him and win the match, but he doesn’t want to win that way.
HBK gets in the ring and they argue, but Taker gets to his feet and attacks Triple H from behind. They fight but Triple H gets the upper hand and uses the Tombstone on Taker. As he looks to the crowd, HBK super kicks him, knocking him out.
Taker gets up and realizes what happened and doesn’t know what to do. He looks at HBK, then Triple H down on the mat, then back at HBK. He picks him up, gives him a Tombstone and pins him, looking at HBK in disgust and disgusted at himself as he walks away.
The Rock vs. John Cena
Rock and Cena make spectacular entrances. Rock and Cena talk a little trash to each other before the bell rings. They start beating each other up back and forth. Cena gets the upper hand and goes for an Attitude Adjustment, but Rock gets out of it. Rock punches Cena in the corner and then throws him out of the ring.
Rock plays to the crowd, but Cena makes it back in the ring and attacks Rock. They start going back and forth again. Rock clotheslines Cena and sets him up for the People’s Elbow. Rock bounces off the ropes, but Cena moves out of the way when he delivers the elbow.
Cena starts punching Rock, laying him out, and then hits the Five-Knuckle Shuffle. He then hits the Attitude Adjustment and goes for the pin, but Rock kicks out. They start going back and forth.
Cena starts his series of shoulder tackles, but when he goes for the last one, Rock catches him and hits the Rock Bottom. He goes for the pin but Cena kicks out. Rock goes for another Rock Bottom, but Cena catches him in the STF. Rock doesn’t tap.
After going back and forth again, they go outside the ring then go hardcore. Rock Rock Bottoms Cena through the announcer's table, but the momentum also hurts the Rock. Cena staggers to his feet and to the surprise of the crowd grabs a chair. The ref tries to get it from him, but when Rock attacks Cena from behind, the ref is knocked out.
Rock throws Cena in the ring, hits the People’s Elbow, but no ref is there to count. Rock gets the chair, throws it in the ring and Rock Bottoms Cena on it. The ref gets to his feet, and Rock pins Cena to win the match. Cena recovers and is beside himself.
As the confetti falls and Rock celebrates with the crowd, Cena attacks Rock from behind. He hits the Rock multiple times with the chair, and officials come to the ring to hold him back, but Cena escapes and starts punching the Rock multiple times.
The officials calm him down, but when they help the Rock to the back, Cena attacks him again with the chair, and Rock is beaten so badly that he has to be carted off on a stretcher. Cena gets back in the ring, grabs a mic, stares at the crowd, and says, “You got what you wanted. You satisfied?” He throws the mic down and leaves, and the show ends.
Bonus coverage prediction: The camera will follow Cena walking backstage, and he will go through a line of performers and officials staring at him in disbelief. He will give them all the "What are you looking at?" look.
He will see the workers putting Rock in the ambulance, and he will stop and stare. The camera will zoom in on him with an evil smile on his face and then fade to black.
So there you have it. Who knows if any of these things will happen in any of the matches, but this is my story and I’m sticking to it.
