WrestleMania 28: Power Ranking Each of This Year's Matches

Eric BallJun 7, 2018

We are officially less than a week away from WrestleMania, and the anticipation is reaching defying heights.

After months of watching the buildup on Raw and SmackDown, the show is almost here.

All of the matches are going to be thrilling, but they aren’t created equal. Here is the official power rankings for the eight matches slated for Sunday night in Miami.

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

8. Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show

Big Show has an awful track record at WrestleMania, and that is the main storyline heading into this snooze-fest.

Let’s hope the creative team gets this one out of the way in a hurry.

7. Randy Orton vs. Kane

Orton has been awful lately, and Kane is fresh off getting destroyed by John Cena in their feud. The hype for this match has been non-existent.

We’ll call this the battle of the losers.

6. Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs. Phoenix and Eve

This is going to be very interesting purely because of Menounos.

The host of the TV show Extra is going up against some of the best female wrestlers in the world. How is she going to keep up?

The creative team has plenty of different angles to play around with for this match. You knew they had to get a diva match in here somehow, and this is the best way to do it.

5. Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan

Bryan is the World Heavyweight Champ and is going to take on the submission specialist Sheamus, who earned the right to be in this battle after emerging victorious in the Elimination Chamber two months ago.

This will be a solid match featuring two of the best pure wrestlers in the sport.

4. Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny

The suits are fighting over who should get full control of both Raw and SmackDown, so they decided to conduct a six-on-six tag team event headlined by the likes of Zach Ryder, R-Truth, The Miz, Mark Henry and Jack Swagger to figure it out.

I’m not a huge fan of the storyline, but it’s going to be very exciting to watch.

3. Triple H vs. Undertaker

The aging Undertaker puts his undefeated record on the line and is convincing Triple H to ditch the suit and put on his wrestling gear.

With the added twist of having Shawn Michaels as the referee, this is a blast from the past and a must-watch match for anybody that appreciates the history of WWE.

2. CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho

Punk is demolishing everybody right now and is one of the stronger WWE Champions in recent memory.

Jericho, who has 22 championships to his credit, has been out for blood ever since Punk knocked him out of the Raw Elimination Chamber Match with a kick to the back of the head.

Both consider themselves the best in the world, and there is only one way to settle the debate.

1. The Rock vs. John Cena

Rise above the hate!

This is going to be one of the greatest matches in the history of WrestleMania. Rock rarely makes an appearance in the WWE world now that he’s a big movie star, but now he’s back for one last match.

These two guys are WWE, and watching them face off is going to be incredibly exciting.

The hype for this match has been incredible, as the creative team has done a masterful job of handling this.

This is the match everyone is waiting for.
