10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Dee Gordon, Los Angeles Dodgers
Twenty-three-year-old shortstop Dee Gordon flew under the radar in 2011 but seems poised for a productive, maybe even breakout season in 2012.
Gordon batted .304 with 224 at bats last year with the Dodgers, racking up 68 hits, 11 RBI and 24 stolen bases in the process.
Gordan played in 56 games total in 2011 with Los Angeles, starting 51 at shortstop for the Dodgers, posting a .954 fielding percentage with just 10 total errors.
Freddy Galvis, Philadelphia Phillies
The Venezuela native stole an impressive 23 bases last season in the minor leagues, and could see the field more than anticipated in 2012 with a degree of uncertainty hanging over the health of Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins.
Galvis is batting .282 with Philadelphia this spring, and looks to be deserving of a good, long look from the Phillies' management and staff.
Craig Gentry, Texas Rangers
Gentry is one of the more experienced players on the list, and was a remarkable 18-for-18 on steal attempts last season with Texas.
The 28-year-old also posted 13 RBI and a lone homer in 133 at bats for the Rangers in 2011. He has the potential to be Texas' starter this spring in center field considering that Leonys Martin isn't ready to take control of the position.
Juan Pierre, Philadelphia Phillies
The 12-year veteran batted .279 last season in 639 at-bats. He homered twice and drove in 50 runs with his bat. Even though he's 34, Pierre still has some speed. After all, he stole 27 bases in 2011 with the Chicago White Sox.
Although he's not a sure bet to get an incredible amount of playing time in 2012, Pierre has the resume and ability to become the unsung hero of your league.
