Real Madrid: Predictions for El Clasico and the Rest of La Liga Season
Real Madrid failed to maintain their six-point lead over Barca as Valencia held them to a stalemate on Sunday. With the gap between the top two sides becoming ever smaller, the next couple of games could prove to be essential for Real Madrid's La Liga trophy push.
Los Blancos expect some tough opposition in the remaining fixtures, could it be that the title is already lost? Can Real Madrid bounce back or is it too late?
Continue reading for my predictions for El Clasico and the rest of La Liga season for Los Blancos.

Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid, April 11
1 of 8Ah, the ungrateful task of predicting derby matches. Nevertheless, this one should be relatively easy.
Both Real and Atletico Madrid will be under a lot of pressure fighting for La Liga title and the last Champions League place, respectively.
In the last five head-to-head matches, Real Madrid recorded five wins, scoring "only" 12 times along the way. Atletico Madrid showed they can defend decently, but they will have no chance against perhaps the greatest attacking trio in world football at the moment.
Verdict: Real Madrid 2, Atletico Madrid 1
Real Madrid vs. Sporting Gijon, April 15
2 of 8Los Blancos should have no problems beating the minnows at Bernabeu.
The battle of the top and the bottom team in the league can have only one outcome.
In the last five head-to-head matches, Sporting managed to record a win and a draw, losing the rest, but they have absolutely no chance in this one.
With Real Madrid fighting for the title, this match could prove to be a walk in the park.
Verdict: Real Madrid 4, Sporting Gijon 0
Barcelona vs. Real Madrid, April 22
3 of 8I'll keep this one short, since I have already written an article about the next El Clasico.
Both teams will be under intense pressure, but both teams will be on fire trying to beat their rivals for a La Liga title.
Real Madrid failed to record a single win in the last five El Clasico clashes, but should be able to record at least a draw.

Real Madrid vs. Sevilla, April 29
4 of 8This could be a tricky match.
The Sevilla clash comes on the back of two tough matches against Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Much depends on those two matches, so it's hard to predict anything right now.
However, Real Madrid won the last five matches against Sevilla and should manage to record a win here. In the last two occasions these two sides met, Real Madrid trashed Sevilla 6-2.
Don't expect another 6-2 trashing, but Real Madrid should be able to record a win.
Verdict: Real Madrid 3, Sevilla 2
Athletic Bilbao vs. Real Madrid, May 2
5 of 8Athletic Bilbao proved that they are capable of beating top opposition in Europa League this season.
Unfortunately, they were not able to replicate that kind of form to their league and are hovering around 10th place at the moment.
Bielsa's men are currently in the semifinals of Europa League and he could be tempted to field a weakened side against Los Blancos in order to keep his players fresh for a potential final just a week away from this match.
Real Madrid were dominant in recent years against the Basque club, winning four and losing one with a goal difference of 17:4.
With that mind, Real Madrid should be able to record a win, but quick counterattacks from Bilbao will be a thorn in the side for Real Madrid.
Verdict: Real Madrid 4, Athletic Bilbao 2
Granada vs. Real Madrid, May 6
6 of 8Granada have absolutely no chance against Real Madrid.
Last time these two sides met, Los Blancos recorded an easy 5-1 win.
This one should be no different.
Granada will probably park the bus, but even that won't save them from a relentless Real Madrid attack.
Verdict: Real Madrid 4, Granada 1
Real Madrid vs. Mallorca, May 13
7 of 8Mallorca are sitting around the middle of the table and have pretty much ensured their stay in La Liga.
However, they can't get into any European competition, which leaves them with no motive to give their best against Los Blancos.
Real Madrid have had some problems with Mallorca in recent times, but always managed to win with a single-goal advantage.
A Real Madrid win is all but guaranteed in this match.
Verdict: Real Madrid 2, Mallorca 1
Conclusion
8 of 8Some of my predictions could be a bit too optimistic, but I think Real Madrid can pull this off if they concentrate on every single match until the end of the season.
If my predictions come true, Los Blancos will finally be celebrating the La Liga trophy.
What do you think? Can Real Madrid maintain their lead over Barca and win the trophy?
