WrestleMania 28: 5 Reasons Why This Event Is a Must-Watch Extravaganza

Brian MaziqueJun 1, 2018

It's WrestleMania, and chances are, if you're reading this, you're a wrestling fan. In most circles, that's enough.

But to provide even more incentive for checking out the industry's biggest event, allow me to bring a few things to your collective attention.

Star Power

It's a pay-per-view, so of course there are "superstars" in action, but the level of stars slated to appear at WrestleMania 28 takes the term to another level.

Comprehend this list of icons:

The Rock

John Cena

Triple H

The Undertaker

Kane

Shawn Michaels

The Big Show

Chris Jericho

CM Punk (Well, almost an icon)

That counts for over 50 different reigns as WWE or World Heavyweight champion. Viewers of WrestleMania 28 will get to see a ton of history in the ring. From a historical standpoint, that's pretty big.

Get your DVRs ready; you should want to capture this bit of history.

WWE Title to Change Hands?

I have the sneaking suspicion that CM Punk is going to lose his title to Jericho. The ridicule Jericho has been dishing is pretty intense. Saying that Punk is destined for substance abuse is going pretty deep to not have Punk fall.

It's as though we're being given a glimpse into what will happen to Punk's character in the event that he loses his title to Jericho. I can imagine leaving fans on the edge of their high chairs and video game seats wondering whether Punk has actually resulted to drinking in his depression.

I predict it will happen, and you don't want to miss the event that triggers one of the more mature story lines in recent memory.

Surprise Appearance

Somebody is coming or coming back, damn it. I don't know who, but somebody is going to reappear or appear. Will it be Albert....or no, Lord Tensai, Kharma or some other figure from the past? Or a character to be reckoned with in the future?

I don't know, but I think something, or should I say someone is going to happen.

These moments are awesome when you see them live. It's true the Internet has ruined these surprises to a degree, as most news leaks. But every once in a while, the WWE does a good job at keeping their surprise angles secret.

If fans are in store for one of those instances, you don't want to miss it live.

Daniel Bryan Will Become A Star

Right now, many people aren't buying Daniel Bryan as a real superstar. Sure he is the World Heavyweight Champion, but as far as charisma, he hasn't truly turned the corner.

His match against Sheamus for the title is a perfect match to put him over on the biggest stage. Bryan's best quality is his in-ring ability. He is a great athlete and one-on-one against Sheamus he'll have an opportunity to display those gifts.

Sheamus is a huge man, but he isn't too big for Bryan to work seamlessly in the ring with. That was my issue with his feud with The Big Show. Show can't keep up the pace with Bryan, and the in-ring work would never put both in the best light.

Against Sheamus, you'll see a fast-paced match that will build the respect for Bryan. I expect him to win fairly, thereby stamping his title reign with more legitimacy.

Undertaker's Last Ride

I remember flipping through channels, having pulled away from wrestling in the early 1990's. I saw this huge man walking the top rope and leaping through the air.

I immediately stopped flipping channels and that was the first time I saw the Undertaker.

This could very well be the final WrestleMania we see the Dead Man, Biker or any other version of Mark Calaway.

The streak is on the line against Triple H in a Hell in a Cell match. I'm hoping Shawn Michaels is pulled in as a wrestler and he drops the lame Special Referee tag.

But either way, I expect to see Taker's WrestleMania win streak stay intact and one of the most amazing wrestling careers get an appropriate punctuation.

If you love wrestling, you'll want to see that.
