WWE's Worst Match of the Week: Big Show vs. Kane on Monday Night RAW (March 19)

Drake OzMar 22, 2012

You know what hardly ever results in something good? A match between two big men.

The Big Show and Kane have both been around the WWE since the late 1990s, and though I don’t know the official count, I’m sure that they’ve faced each other dozens upon dozens times throughout their careers.

It wasn’t good way back then, and—guess what?—it wasn’t good on this week’s episode of RAW, either.

Though there have been a ton of short TV matches on RAW and SmackDown over the last several weeks, Big Show vs. Kane takes the cake as worst of the bunch. It was short, and it sucked.

Let me sum up the entire match for you: Lockup, a few punches, a failed chokeslam attempt from Kane, a spear from The Big Show, a distraction from Cody Rhodes while Show was on the top rope and then a top-rope chokeslam from Kane to Big Show to get the victory. Yeah, that was it.

The entire match lasted all of 52 seconds, and if you weren’t paying really close attention to what was going on at the time, chances are that you may have missed it altogether.

While this Show vs. Kane bout was used primarily to further the feud between Show and Rhodes, I’m not a fan of short matches, even if I don’t particularly care for either of the participants in the bout.

I would prefer to never see Big Show and Kane face each other in singles action again, but unfortunately, I’m going to have to sit through it again on this week’s episode of SmackDown

Well, it looks like I may be drinking heavily tomorrow night.

Note: As part of the new WWE blog, I'll be asking all of the B/R wrestling readers for questions for a new mailbag that I will post on Fridays. It will be a slideshow featuring 10-20 questions and answers on a wide range of topics. You can submit questions either through Formspring or Twitter, and the best ones will be answered in the B/R mailbag.
