Chicago Cubs' Home Runs!
My article today is just a "what if" kind of a deal. I like to think about what the Cubs could do in the offseason with the coming year approaching. So let's talk about our biggest contract, Soriano.
I am having trouble thinking that he was worth $160 million for eight years. Each year we expect him to smash the ball and have 45-50 home runs. He gets around 32 or 33. We expect him to steal bases in the ball park of like 30-35, yet he gets around 20.
What do you think we can expect from him this year! I think his best year as a Cub! I think he will see his big year with home runs. I'm putting him at about 51 for the year. Stolen bases I think about 28-30.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
I'm sorry, did I get ahead of myself, lol. The only way that will happen is if he doesn't bat leadoff. Third in the batting lineup or sixth would get him those things. With saying that, I want to see Theriot batting first. This is the way I see the batting lineup to be the best.
1. Theriot
2. Miles
3. Soriano
4. Bradley
5. Ramirez
6. Lee
7. Soto
8. Fukudome
9. pitcher unless Zambrano is pitching then I would switch Fukudome with him
That lineup would be a tough one for pitchers to deal with. If you put a good on base guy in front of an RBI machine then you would get more runs, you would also catch a lot of pitchers off guard and could make mistakes more often to the wrong guys.
So with my lineup I have here and the fact that I think Soriano will be a beast this year, that is how I support my theory on his stats.
I'm really interested in seeing what other fellow Cubs fans have to say, so send me some e-mails.
