WrestleMania 28: Wrestlers in Danger of Getting Phased out

Adam WellsJun 7, 2018

One of the easiest ways to determine exactly where a wrestler stands in the eyes of the creative team is the way they are booked heading into WrestleMania.

The most prominent stars are going to be put in high-profile matches, while others are going to be in nothing feuds or begging to get on the card.

We want to focus on the latter, with stars who are in serious jeopardy of being phased out. That is not to say they will be released any time soon, but their long-term prospects in WWE don't look bright.

Here are the wrestlers who should be alarmed about where their career is headed as we move closer to WrestleMania 28.

The Miz

No wrestler has been hurt more by this WrestleMania build than The Miz. Not only does he go on television every week begging for a match like a dork, but he then proceeds to lose every match in the way that a jobber would.

It has been quite the fall from grace for the man who was in the main event of last year's WrestleMania.

There have been rumors floating around about Miz getting involved in the match between John Cena and The Rock, but that would be a disaster of epic proportions.

Losing streaks in wrestling never work to get someone over, but this one has been worse because he doesn't even "look good" while losing. Miz is on the verge of becoming a top-of-the-card wrestler on a low-level pay-per-view.

Zack Ryder

It's amazing that Ryder still gets cheered as much as he does, especially considering how much of an idiot he is presented as in storylines.

Not only did the Eve-Kane angle make him look like a moron—remember the angry face in the wheelchair?—but he gave her another chance because he's so desperate.

While Ryder gets to be a part of Team Teddy in the 10-man tag team match, don't be surprised if he is the one who gets pinned when all is said and done. He had some potential late last year, but WWE has seen fit to ruin any hopes he had to become more than a television guy.

Kane

When Kane returned in December, some fans were excited to see if he could get John Cena to "embrace the hate." Shockingly, that didn't happen.

To make matters worse, that feud was so contrived and idiotic that Kane looked even worse than he did back when WWE tried that whole Katie Vick angle. Oy.

Since he is a big guy, Kane is always going to get a match on pay-per-views, but his days of actually being relevant are long gone.

His feud with Randy Orton heading into WrestleMania has been one of the weakest stories the WWE has tried, simply putting these two together to get them on the card.

Orton is going to be protected, and Kane will look like a monster jobber. That being said, at least he's wearing the mask again.
