Conflicting Reports: Is Jorge Posada Playing in the WBC or Not?

Here are some Yankee headlines of the day:

Jorge Posada has supposedly (Yankee official denied the report) agreed to play in the World Baseball Classic. Posada’s dad said he will be the DH for Puerto Rico. The team official said he won’t be playing because of the shoulder injury that he is recovering from.

Freddy Garcia’s decision coming soon and the Yankees are interested. I would definitely go for it. He was pretty good in 2006 with Chicago going 17-9 with a 4.53ERA. I would take that any day..especially for a back end of the rotation kind of guy. Garcia went 1-1 witha  4.20ERA when he returned after recovering from shoulder surgery last year.

New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson bashes Bloomberg’s Administration on the way they handled the Yankee Stadium construction project.

Yankees need rotation depth. The Boston Red Sox may not have a better starting four, but they definitely have more depth. The Yankees could use another pitcher just in case somebody goes down with an injury. Jason Johnson is not the answer.

Should the Yankees go after Garret Anderson? He is currently unsigned and the Yankees could definitely use him. A Spring Training invite couldn’t hurt.

Chien-Ming Wang and his wife are expecting a baby in June according to some sources from Taiwan.

Negotiations with Pettitte are slowing down. There has been no trade talks recently to help bring back Pettitte. The waiting part is getting annoying already…
