Wrestlemania 28: Stars Who Deserve to Have Their Own Streak Started at Big Event

Brian MaziqueJun 5, 2018

Streaks can go both ways. The Undertaker's long and impressive run is on the positive side, but it would also be intriguing to see a superstar stumble upon bad times. Losses can build character and appeal in the eyes of fans if they are presented correctly.

Here is an example of both a positive and negative streak I'd like to see begin at WrestleMania 28.

CM Punk is Driven to a Bad Place

Chris Jericho has been coming at CM Punk hard, claiming that he's destined for an addiction to alcohol. It doesn't seem as though this is going to be an angle that goes away soon.

Therefore, this makes me think Punk will lose the title to Jericho at WrestleMania. While it wouldn't be wise to throw Punk straight into a bout with alcohol right away; a losing streak could possibly be the stroke of misfortune that drives him to drink.

For example, after perhaps four losses in a row—in which Punk fights valiantly, of course—the Straight Edge Superstar can then begin to give way to his "pre-destined" demons.

Ultimately, he'd be able to overcome them with some inspiration and return to the winners column.

This would be a great way to add some humanity and vulnerability to Punk's character.

In the end, he'd be even more popular, if that's even possible.

A Long Run For Daniel Bryan

I know Bryan has been the champion since December, but this is WrestleMania. A one-on-one victory over Sheamus would be huge for his popularity and legitimacy as champion. Sheamus is a two-time WWE title holder, King of the Ring winner and this year's Royal Rumble winner.

Needless to say, he's a decorated champion.

Bryan could begin a streak that sees him beat former champions. This could become a point of reference for him, something announcers could refer to as he takes on and defeats former champions at upcoming pay-per-view events.

Bryan is an awesome in-ring competitor. However, he needs something to talk about in his promos and a history of defeating past champions is a nice distinction.

I'd love to see it start at WrestleMania with a win over Sheamus.
