WWE News: Major Update on Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis at WrestleMania 28
Although we know that Teddy Long’s team will face John Laurinaitis’ team for control of the brands at WrestleMania 28, we don’t know much else about the match.
Only the captains (Santino Marella for Team Long and David Otunga for Team Laurinaitis) and Mark Henry have been announced as participants—although that will change on this week’s SmackDown—and we still don’t know the format of the 12-man tag team match.
We probably won’t know everything about the bout for at least another week or so, but we might now have a better idea of what Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis will look like at WrestleMania 28.

"As we have also posted, Rey Mysterio may end up with the final spot on Team Long for the big multi-man match at WrestleMania 28.
WWE officials have also been considering Evan Bourne for the spot.
There was talk of making the Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis match an Elimination Match but that would take up too much time.
"
If I’m just going to be 100 percent honest here, then I have to say that I don’t care too much for any of these possible moves.
Why bring back Rey Mysterio for a match like this? Even though it would be nice to see him at the biggest pay-per-view of the year, there are tons of better ways to bring him back and have him make a bigger impact. Not to mention, I don’t think that Team Long is going to win, so bringing back Mysterio only to have him lose isn’t doing too much for anybody.
As for Evan Bourne, there’s absolutely no way that he should get a spot on WrestleMania 28. Although he would add some excitement to the match, we have to keep in mind that he was suspended twice in 2011 for violating the WWE’s talent wellness program. The WWE should give that final spot on Team Long to someone who deserves it, and Bourne definitely doesn’t after disappointing big-time last year.
I’m also not too sure how I feel about the match not being an elimination-style match.
Sure, that match type would take up a lot more time (and thus, take away from some other matches), but I’m just not sold on having so many people involved in a match, only to have just one pin throughout it. You would think that with 11 guys standing on the apron, any pin attempt can be broken up by a team member of the guy who’s getting pinned.
I’ll assume that this means the match is going to have to end in some sort of chaos, and I’d much rather see a Survivor Series-style bout, where the last man (or men) standing uses that momentum to get a nice push after the pay-per-view.
