WWE News: Major Update on Power Being Shifted from Vince McMahon to Triple H
The WWE is and always will be Vince McMahon’s company, as he’s the one who built the WWE empire into what it is today.
But we all knew that there would come a time when Vince’s duties started to decrease, when he would gradually begin to cede power to his daughter Stephanie McMahon-Helmsey and son-in-law Triple H. That time has come, and we’ve seen Stephanie and Triple H take on more responsibilities over the last couple of years.
That transfer of power is still going on, however, and we have the latest reports on how it’s going.

From WrestleZone.com:
"WrestleZone has learned that the transition phase in WWE, with power being shifted to HHH and his wife Stephanie McMahon-LeVesque from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, continues at a decent pace, with many of the creative decisions Vince used to rule on now being handled by HHH. One writing team source called HHH "The DeFacto Vince," but added "Vince is hands-on in control of WrestleMania, and he's not letting anyone else have a say in the matter."
This is one of the reasons why so much of the WrestleMania lineup has not been finalized yet, because, according to another key WWE insider, "Vince keeps changing his mind. He's just not sold on anything but the top matches.".
"
Regardless of how much control Triple H has or is beginning to have over the day-to-day operations of the WWE, I truly believe that Vince will be involved with the company until the day that he dies or is no longer physically able to do it. The WWE is his baby, and he’s not going to put it fully in the control of someone until he has to, even someone he trusts like Triple H.
What should be interesting to see as Vince begins to cede more and more power, however, is how this affects the WWE as we know it.
Vince is notorious for changing his mind about storylines (especially when they leak out on the Internet), and that’s still evident—as WrestleZone’s source points out—in the build to WrestleMania, when, less than three weeks away from the pay-per-view, the undercard still has a lot of work to do. This has constantly happened under Vince’s watch, as he flip-flops between ideas week by week.
While Triple H will never be able to replace Vince McMahon as a businessman or booker, perhaps the one thing he can do as he begins taking on more responsibilities is to use more long-term planning, to start with storylines and stick with them, rather than changing them as he changes mind.
We all can see that the best storylines (see: Triple H vs. Undertaker and The Rock vs. Cena) have the best long-term planning, and with Triple H taking over, maybe the WWE will be booked several months in advance rather than on the fly as it often is now.
