WWE News: Possible Finish to The Rock vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 28 Revealed

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

The Rock vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 28 is a match that has to end clean. Has to.

This is arguably the biggest bout in the history of professional wrestling, and the last thing I want to see is for the WWE creative team to book some shady finish that has the potential to completely ruin the biggest pay-per-view of the year, one that could very well be one of the better shows in recent history.

Yet, it looks like a disputed ending for Rock/Cena is very much a possibility.

One of the plans for John Cena vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 28 would see interference from another WWE Superstar towards the end of the match. This isn't confirmed but speculation is that The Miz may interfere.

"

I would assume that the likeliest interferer would be The Miz, and I outlined the reasons why in another article I posted yesterday. But the basic gist is that he has nothing to do at WrestleMania 28 and has history with The Rock and Cena, which sets up perfectly for him to screw either one of them over during their match.

No matter whom the WWE is considering having interfere in this historic bout, however, I don’t like it. At all.

WrestleMania is not the time to set up some storyline that may or may not happen way down the road, especially if it’s going to ruin a match. But that’s exactly what having The Miz or anyone else interfere in this bout would do: Totally ruin it.

Unless “Stone Cold” Steve Austin himself was going to be the one to interfere (this is just hypothetical, people), then there’s absolutely no reason whatsoever to involve anyone else in this bout. There is no one on the WWE roster who is on the same level as Cena or The Rock (in terms of popularity or relevance in pro wrestling), and therefore, there is no one who is worthy of influencing the outcome of such a huge match.

Whether it’s The Rock or Cena that’s going over in Miami, let that guy win. And let him win clean.

Future storylines can be set up in the future. The Rock vs. Cena for the first time ever only happens once.
