NBA Trade Rumors: 5 Teams That Must Gamble on Andrew Bogut

Bradlee RossJun 6, 2018

Andrew Bogut is a very talented center in the NBA, which has him on some teams NBA trade deadline wish lists. There are some teams that need to take a chance on Bogut to make their teams better.

Bogut can score, rebound and is fairly young at 27 years of age. He could improve a lot of contenders by helping beef up front lines and being a low post scoring threat.

Here are five teams that should take a chance on Bogut.

Golden State Warriors

1 of 5

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly interested in Andrew Bogut's services, and they should be.

The Warriors have nearly all of the pieces of a future contender in place. They have good young players, they can score and have talent everywhere on the court. The one thing they really need is a center.

Bogut can be that guy. Not only can he add some defense to their high octane offensive attack, but he can also keep up and score too. He'd be an ideal fit next to David Lee in that front line.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are another team in need of a big. Bogut would help the Celtics with their offensive woes, while at the same time buying into the defensive philosophy of the team.

Bogut is a legit 7-footer who can rebound and score. That is literally what the Celtics need to make their team better.

Boston shouldn't have to give up too much for him, but they'll probably need to part with at least one of the Big Three. It will be well worth it though.

Orlando Magic

3 of 5

I don't think the Orlando Magic will deal Dwight Howard before the deadline. However, if they do, they should look at Bogut as a replacement.

He'd fill in nicely as a young center who could contribute immediately and maybe help this team reach the playoffs sooner than most expect without Howard.

I'm guessing Howard isn't willing to go to Milwaukee, so the Magic would probably need to send other players up there, but it would be worth it. A big man is hard to find in the NBA.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers are building something special around Kyrie Irving, but they'll need a center at some point to complete the picture.

Andrew Bogut should be that guy. He's young enough to last a while with the young core of the team, and he is a legitimate 7-foot center which they do not have.

He's well-rounded enough to play with Irving and would probably benefit from having a pass-first point guard for a change. The Cavaliers should ship out Antawn Jamison for Bogut and continue building their future.

Minnesota Timberwolves

5 of 5

The Minnesota Timberwolves need a center to pair with Kevin Love. Why not Andrew Bogut?

He's well-rounded, could help Love defend in the post and could provide an anchor for the Timberwolves' half court offense.

Also, he goes along with the youth movement of the team and the shaggy-haired white guy thing they've got going with Ricky Rubio and Love. I don't know if that strategy will work, but Bogut would fit in with it nicely.
