WWE News: Huge Update on Jim Ross Possibly Announcing at WrestleMania 28

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

Jim Ross is the greatest announcer in WWE history, and the downfall of wrestling announcing as a whole had made fans pine to see him back at the announcers table.

Jerry Lawler’s struggles to adapt to his babyface persona, Michael Cole’s annoying heel antics and a number of other factors have combined to really hurt the WWE product, and many of us want to see Cole and Lawler removed from TV.

We don’t want Cole and Lawler at WrestleMania 28. We want Good Ol’ J.R. But will we actually get him?

Regarding Jim Ross working this year's WrestleMania 28 event, it's believed that the decision will be made the week of the big event and as always, it comes down to what Vince McMahon wants. Ross may end up calling one or two matches this year.

It's believed that The Undertaker has asked officials if Ross can call his match but The Rock and John Cena have not yet.

If I had my way, Jim Ross would be calling the entire pay-per-view because he’s just so damn good at what he does and can make a good match seem great or a great match seem phenomenal. But I’ve already accepted the fact that that likely won’t happen.

So, now I need to settle for my second best option: J.R. calling The Undertaker vs. Triple H inside Hell in a Cell, as well as the epic encounter between The Rock and John Cena.

Just sitting here and thinking about the possibility of Cole, Lawler and Booker T calling two historic matches is infuriating, especially when I know that Cole will someone manage to ruin both of them.

The WWE continues to bill The Rock vs. Cena as “the biggest match ever,” but it will only truly fit that bill if the Ross is there to call it, and preferably, if Cole isn’t. The same goes for Triple H vs. Undertaker, which just won’t be the same without J.R. screaming, “Bah gawd!” a few times.

Although the WWE can generally replacement talent once it’s gone, J.R. is proof that that’s not always the case. He makes the WWE better, and the company needs him to make WrestleMania 28 one of the biggest ever.
