28 Days of WrestleMania: Has AJ Lee Become the Miss Elizabeth of the Moment?
Disclaimer: This will be an ongoing series for the next 28 days leading up to the biggest event in sports entertainment, WrestleMania 28.The idea behind the piece is to build more momentum for the event and give you, the Bleacher Report, fan a chance to read, comment and weigh in with opinions about the WWE, the business and the event. It is my hope this becomes something positive and we all enjoy the ride for the next four weeks to Miami and the biggest event of the wrestling year. Enjoy.
Of all the matches already signed for WrestleMania 28, maybe the one that is flying under the radar more than any “big time” match is Daniel Bryan putting his World Championship up against Royal Rumble winner Sheamus.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
With The Rock and John Cena having a war of words over who is more “candy-assed” and Chris Jericho and CM Punk both wanting to be the “best in the world” —and let’s not forget the cluster that HHH created when he said he was better than Shawn Michaels and now faces an Undertaker in Hell in a Cell without the help of the Heartbreak Kid—it is easy to see why this might be so.
Since Bryan, who has become the greatest “opportunist" in WWE history, has had issues with big men before, maybe we should expect a little help in his quest to retain the title.
Whether she knows it or not (duh, this is wrestling), AJ Lee has, in some way, become the Miss Elizabeth of the moment.
For everything Miss Elizabeth was to the WWF: stylist, elegant, gorgeous and sweet, she was also one of the greatest liabilities in the wrestling business—demure, dainty and fragile and scared of the dight of men outside the ring who could have harmed her.
Randy Savage was very protective of his love and also used her to distract his opponents.
Bryan may not “love” the cute and adorable AJ, but he sure loves using her as a ploy in the way he plans for a match.
And with the World Title on the line, you know he is thinking of ways to make this part of his “routine” to retain what is his.
Matches like these have ways of playing themselves out.
Bryan either uses his “girlfriend” (remember, she loves him but he has never professed his love for her) to beat Sheamus. Bryan gets beat when Sheamus works around the imposition. Or, AJ gets smart to all this and helps Sheamus win the match.
Or, there is the situation where AJ costs Daniel Bryan the match when a plan goes south.
There may be more drama in this match than Rock/Cena, which shows how the WWE has dropped the ball in its plans for this match— remember the one that has been promoted for a year and is losing steam because Dwayne Johnson has fallen from grace?
With “sleeper” written all over it, since there are also more matches that pique the interest of the fans (Big Show and Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Kane), this has a chance to be one of the better matches of the night.
And while the “love fest" between HHH and Shawn Michaels may draw more interest, this one could or could not end up with a happy ending.
