WrestleMania 28: The 5 Best Moments Between the Rock and John Cena
The Rock and John Cena have put on a great story for the WWE fans while promoting their WrestleMania 28 fight.
Many fans have said that the Rock has been dominating Cena in promos, cheers and overall backing.
In fact, Cena has actually been the one who would come out and tell the fans what they really want to hear. Cena talks about how much the match means to him, while the Rock just talks about his body parts and how they are superior to Cena’s.
The fans will always be behind the Rock because Cena is not really a beloved figure in the WWE—that does not mean that Cena hasn’t dazzled the fans during this feud with the Rock.
This list is comprised of some intense moments, some funny moments, and even a rap. Here are the five best moments of the feud between the Rock and John Cena.
5. The Rock's History Lesson
1 of 5On March 3, 2012, the Rock was traveling around Boston to give the fans and Cena history lessons. These segments were one of the funniest segments in the WWE as of late, and it comes as no surprise that the Rock was the one behind them all.
This moment was great because it made Cena look like an idiot—which plenty of fans love—and because it provided comic relief for the crowd and the WWE Universe.
Best part of the Rock’s History Lesson: “Johnny Cena went to town riding on a pony, Rocky stuck a feather up his a** and called him a jabroni."
4. The Rock and John Cena Team Up for Survivor Series
2 of 5On Nov. 20, 2011, the Rock and Cena teamed “never before and never again” to fight against the Miz and R-Truth. The match itself was horrible, but the moment was great.
The Rock ended up giving the Miz a “People’s Elbow” and then pinned him to win the match.
The Rock and Cena together on one side of the ring was a dream come true to young fans during the Attitude Era who have stuck around watching until now. The fans were definitely behind the two as they completely obliterated the Miz and R-Truth.
The stare down between the Rock and Cena while Rocky was celebrating his victory said it all—the two men hate each other and WrestleMania can’t come any faster.
3. John Cena Raps About the Rock
3 of 5On Feb. 21, 2011, Cena decided to dust the microphone off and rap about the Rock. The fans were finally behind Cena because this is the side of him that the older members of the WWE Universe have missed.
This moment was great because it reminded the fans of Cena’s talent on the microphone, and it was a pretty interesting rap that he came up with. Cena broke the “PG” wall in the promo and the fans were behind that like no other.
John Cena’s Best Line in the Rap: “I’m like a big purple pinwheel, Rock, so you can go ahead and blow me”.
2. The Rock Returns to the WWE
4 of 5On Feb. 14, 2011, the Rock finally came back to the WWE to announce that he was the host of WrestleMania 27—and he didn't stop there.
The Rock addressed the Miz and Cena at the end of his electrifying promo. This was not the first seed planted in the feud between Cena and the Rock—but it was the water that made it grow.
Cena called out the Rock for ditching the WWE and going to Hollywood a couple years back. The Rock discussed his frustration with Cena in the promo then dubbed him with the nickname “Fruity Pebbles” for wearing bright-colored t-shirts.
This moment was incredible because it got the fans hooked, and it also made the fans happy because they knew a match between Cena and the Rock was imminent.
1. John Cena's Passionate Promo
5 of 5On Feb. 20,2012, Cena put on the best promo of his wrestling career.
Cena came out to address the situation between he and the Rock.
Most fans expected Cena to come out and talk about how he will never give up and how he will conquer and overcome—but Cena went beyond that.
Cena showed a true hatred for the Rock and how angry he was that the Rock turned his back on the WWE for Hollywood. The promo even got some people in the WWE locker rooms talking and agreeing with Cena.
Cena did not only speak for “Cenation”, he spoke for the WWE Universe and all the fans that felt betrayed by the Rock. Cena will likely never put on a promo like this again, but it definitely raised some eyebrows from the crowd and earned him a lot of cheers.
This moment was between the Rock and Cena was the best one because Cena finally let out a side of him that everyone has wanted to see—passionate anger.
The WrestleMania 28 match can't come any faster, but once it does, everyone will hope it lasts a lifetime.
