WWE News: Will the Rock and John Cena Brawl Before Their WrestleMania 28 Match?

Drake OzMar 9, 2012

John Cena and The Rock are currently in the midst of arguably the biggest feud in WWE history, but they apparently don’t hate each other enough to lay their hands on one another.

Sure, they’ve gone at it before and have laid each other out with their finishers on a number of occasions. However, since The Rock returned to the WWE a couple of weeks ago, it’s been a war of words, not fists.

This has many wrestling fans just waiting on the edge of their seats to see The Rock and Cena have a brawl for the ages. Will we actually see them get physical before their match at WrestleMania 28? Let’s find out.

It is reported that The Rock and John Cena will not have any physical interaction until the last RAW before WrestleMania which is on March 26th

If I were booking this feud, I would have no physical interaction whatsoever between The Rock and Cena until they met in the center of the ring in Miami.

The idea behind this is to build up the anticipation of that moment when The Rock and Cena can finally say, “Screw it. I’m gonna kick your ass.” As soon as that bell rings, all hell breaks loose and they go at it like it’s the last match they’ll ever wrestle.

Since it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen, though, I’d make sure that the physical interaction between the two on March 26th is as minimal as possible because you don’t want to give away too much before the big match at WrestleMania.

Perhaps the WWE can have a final promo between the two at the end of that episode of Raw where Cena says something that infuriates The Rock, which makes him lose it and attack Cena. Just as the two start brawling, dozens upon dozens of security guards and wrestlers run to the ring and rip the two apart, making sure to not let either guy go like they usually do.

This would really highlight the animosity between the two and also give us a small taste of what’s to come at WrestleMania 28 without having a drawn-out brawl that takes away from their match. The goal is not to give us too much—it’s to make us want to see more.

Assuming The Rock and Cena don’t beat the crap out of each other for 10 minutes, the WWE might draw in some more PPV buyers by having a heated scuffle between two of the biggest stars ever on the final Raw before Mania.
