NCAA Bracket 2012: Predicting No. 1 Seeds for March Madness
As the conference tournaments get underway, the elite teams are all vying for the coveted No. 1 seed, which will make their path to the championship much easier.
There are several talented teams all capable of doing big things in the tournament, but only a few are really contenders for the top overall seed.
It's been a crazy season in college basketball, and the best of the best are ready to make a deep run in during March Madness.

The conference tournaments will factor into who gets the top overall seed, but those strong contenders shouldn't slip up in their respective conference tournament.
That being said, here are my predictions for the No. 1 seeds in the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
Kentucky Wildcats
This one is a no-brainer. The Wildcats have been out-of-this-world good this season, and they're not going to stumble in the SEC Tournament.
Kentucky was perfect in conference play this year, and the only game it lost this season was to Indiana, which was only by one point.
At 30-1, the Wildcats are destined for the best seed in the tournament. They've been unstoppable this season, and that will continue throughout March.
Syracuse Orange
Another team at 30-1, Syracuse will get a No. 1 seed in the tournament no matter how it fares in the Big East Tournament.
Their body of work throughout the year in the toughest conference in the country is all the evidence the committee needs to put them at the top spot.
The Orange have had some close calls this year, but they're a very strong team capable of a solid showing in the tournament. What they've accomplished thus far will put them at No. 1.
Kansas Jayhawks
At 26-5, the Jayhawks have surprised a lot of people this season. After losing the Morris twins, most thought they would contend but certainly not at this high level.
But here they are, proving that they're worthy of a No. 1 seed. Kansas will need to win the Big 12 Tournament, but that isn't a huge worry for them.
The Jayhawks knows they can beat anyone that comes their way, and once they claim the conference again, they'll be awarded a No. 1 seed.
North Carolina Tar Heels
Another team that has to win their conference tournament, the Tar Heels are in a great position to do just that.
Should they fail, though, it would most likely be to Duke, who would then take their spot as a No. 1 seed.
I don't see that happening, though, and their most recent game against each other is perfect proof. North Carolina is a much better team, and the Tar Heels will get it done this weekend to claim a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
