WWE News: Plans for Comedic Baby Face Tag Scrapped by Creative Team
The WWE may not have quite the amount of talent it had 10 years ago, but it’s still loaded with plenty of great superstars, making it inexplicable that the company can’t form a credible tag team division.
Yet, every week that passes by, the tag team division either stays the same or even takes a step backward, giving us little hope of the much-desired tag team rejuvenation we’ve been hoping for.
Recently, the WWE discussed pairing two comedic baby faces together to help improve the dying tag team division, but apparently has pulled the plug on the duo before it even started.

From F4Wonline.com (via LordsofPain.net):
"WWE creative had at one point planned last week to replace Kofi Kingston as R-Truth's tag team partner with Santino Marella for comedic purposes. Though R-Truth and Marella partnered at weekend house shows, the idea has already been nixed.
"
As a big fan of both Santino Marella and R-Truth, I would have had no problem with the creative team pairing them together to bolster the tag team division.
Although those plans have obviously changed now that Santino is the United States Champion, both he and Truth (but especially Santino) are over with the crowd, and if the Usos are never going to be used like they should be, then Santino and Truth could have been the top baby face tag team in the WWE and the challengers to WWE Tag Team Champions Epico and Primo.
Sure, a Santino/Truth team would have been a lot like the comedic team of Santino and Valdimir Kozlov we got a couple of years ago. But even though that duo was a bit too ridiculous at times, it also led to some great comedy, such as the infamous “tea time” segment with Sheamus.
I’m not sure exactly why the Truth/Santino duo was nixed because Truth isn’t really doing anything of note right now, and both he and Santino have a lot of experience working in a tag team.
I don’t know about you, but I would have loved to see “True Miracles” perform in a tag team division that is next to nonexistent.
