WWE News: Report on Who Brodus Clay May Feud with When He Returns to TV

Brodus Clay took over WWE TV for several weeks with his wild antics and exhilarating dance moves, but he was gone just as quickly as he came. 

The Funksaurus only lasted on Raw and SmackDown for a couple of weeks before his squash matches stopped, his push was halted and he found himself no longer appearing on TV. 

While some have completely forgotten about Clay during his lengthy absence, the creative team apparently hasn’t. 

From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingInc.com):

WWE creative have talked about Brodus Clay feuding with The Miz if or when he resumes appearing on television again. 

The Funkasaurus has appeared at recent Raw live events. He was reportedly removed from television last month due to Vince McMahon's unhappiness with his ring work. 

"

Ring work is something that can’t be dramatically improved in just a month or two, so I wouldn’t be shocked if it takes a really long time for Clay to get back on TV. 

I, for one, thought Clay’s in-ring work was fine, though, and as a big fan of his wacky gimmick and ridiculous dancing, I’d love to see him back on Raw soon with his Funkasaurus character. And I wouldn’t mind seeing him feud with The Miz. 

It’s painfully evident that The Miz—who has lost nine straight TV matches now—is in the doghouse and probably won’t be getting out of it anytime soon, so the WWE might as well use that to its advantage by having him put someone over. Someone like Clay. 

Part of the problem with Clay’s recent short-lived run on TV was that he had minute-long squash matches that only featured about three moves, and he never really got a chance to work a normal match. What Clay really needed was a feud, but the WWE never gave it to him. 

At least if Clay comes back and gets into a bit of a rivalry with The Miz, he’ll have something to do besides squashing enhancement talent.
