WWE Wrestlemania 28: Does The Miz Deserve to Be on the Card?

Giulio RomanoJun 4, 2018

When it comes to booking in WWE, the creative team certainly knows how to push people's buttons. Case and point: the Awesome One himself, The Miz.

He has been a hard working superstar who broke free from the reigns of reality television and made his way slowly up the ranks of the pro-wrestling industry. He finally reached the top when he captured the WWE championship in 2010 by defeating none other than The Viper, Randy Orton.

As of this minute, the man still doesn't have a match, or even a role set up for him, at WrestleMania XXVIII, which is rather a shame considering that, after all, The Miz is...

- a former WWE Champion

- a holder of three championships simultaneously in 2010 (United States and Unified Tag Titles)

- a Money in the Bank winner

- 2-0 at the Show of Shows (the dark match at WM25 doesn't count)

- the man who successfully defended his championship in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII

- an important ambassador for the WWE (he is everywhere)

There have been a series of set backs recently, which may or may not have led to the company giving him the cold shoulder. One can remember the match when The Miz was supposed to catch R-Truth, but everyone's timing was off and that almost caused a serious injury to little Jimmy's daddy.

Maryse Ouellet, Miz's real-life girlfriend chose not to continue with the company, and they mutually parted ways. Could that have chilled the relationship between WWE and Mizanin?

Also, it was once rumored that the Awesome One had been blamed for the lower results of the last Survivor Series pay-per-view event. How that could even be possible is still a mystery given the fact that Miz and partner, R-Truth, were completely overshadowed by John Cena and a returning Rock.

With so little build up, that main event was doomed at its inception because of WWE Creative, not The Miz.

You add up the pros and the cons and ask the ultimate million dollar question:

Does The Miz deserve to be in the ring at WrestleMania this year?

It is safe to say yes! In capital letter too.

With a card loaded with all-time great OLDER superstars, it is vital to have someone representing the new generation of performers in the company. There are others like him, but this one stands out because he has his own unique talents and followers and it would be a shame not to see him.

Since Mick Foley returned to the company not long ago, it would have been easy to arrange for some sort of feud between them. Elevating younger guys is a virtuous and noble gesture that "Mankind" is known for, and there is still some time to make this all happen.

It's a given he needs SOME work in the ring, but practice makes perfect and in time, with the right people, The Miz can and will become an all-time great.

There are tons of signs out there which can prove he will indeed be on the card. Just take his constant losing OR his coming out and actually mentioning his non-active role (simple WWE booking 101)—all that means is they still haven't found the right thing for him yet.

They will very soon, and WrestleMania will be that much more Awesome!
