WWE Wrestlemania 28: Why This Will Be the Biggest Event of All Time

David LevinMar 6, 2012

Anticipation can sometimes be the worst thing for sporting events.

The same may be said for the upcoming WrestleMania event in Miami.

Now that we know key matches are set, rivalries are renewed and we can all see the match between The Rock and John Cena in the horizon, there is a bit of giddiness that overcomes us all when we see "Mr. WrestleMania" included in the big night of wrestling's crown jewel.

Amazing!

What happens now until the event (26 nights away and counting) is anyone's guess, but with four great matches already planned out and more to come, you know there will be a surprise or two that will shock and hopefully please us all.

Here are the reasons this pay-per-view event will be the best ever.

Great Planning and Angle Writing

1 of 8

The idea of CM Punk facing Chris Jericho is one we all have wanted to see.

With the growing number of injuries on the roster and problems that exist with booking, the creative team really got this one right so far.

The only problem that I can see right now is that the divas have been left off the card so far and we have not seen what other matches could be added.

But so far, with the exception of the Teddy Long/John Laurinaitis situation, I love what they have done.

CM Punk and Chris Jericho Are Roddy Piper and Randy Savage

2 of 8

Piper and Savage never faced each other in the WWF, but they will in the WWE.

Two guys who are at the top of their game (Punk slightly ahead of the curve) will face off.

While I do not like the way Dolph Ziggler and The Miz have been cast off and are fighting for mid-card status, Jericho is the one who can sell for Punk more than anyone.

Punk will also bring out the best in Jericho, who hasn't been tested in years.

Cody Rhodes Can Lose to Big Show and Still Win

3 of 8

Here is my theory behind this:

Dolph Ziggler lost the United States Heavyweight Title and then went into an angle with CM Punk for the WWE Title.

Cody Rhodes can drop the Intercontinental Title and then enter into an angle with Sheamus if the "Great White" wins the World Title at WrestleMania 28.

Rhodes has been the most consistent wrestler these days on SmackDown and is smothered by feuds between Daniel Bryan and anyone he is pissing off.

Rhodes can lose the title very easily and become a big winner.

We Should See a Surprise or Two in South Beach

4 of 8

They always happen at the best time.

South Beach is such a "hot" place and things happen all the time, and a surprise or two are not out of the question.

Do we see Alberto Del Rio, who is perfect for this type of this venue?

Does Rey Mysterio show up and make his presence known?

And could we see other members of the Kliq emerge?

John Cena Could Finally Get Over

5 of 8

Whether people believe it or not, it looks like John Cena is getting the crowds behind him.

The Rock is losing a bit of his mojo.

Whether it is Hollywood, being away from the cameras for too long or Cena being a different kind of "hero" in the WWE Universe, Dwayne Johnson has looked more mortal the past few weeks.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I like it.

The Streak

6 of 8

It's the one thing that has become bigger than the event and everyone who is familiar with the business knows about it.

The Undertaker is the most prolific wrestler in the entire company, next to the work of Shawn Michaels.

When you talk about this "streak," having three of the greatest wrestlers of the modern era involved in the night's most important match is what this pay-per-view is all about.

Randy Orton vs. Kane Could Be a Great Feud Moving Forward

7 of 8

It came out of the blue, but it looks like it could be something special.

While Wade Barrett is injured and mending, Randy Orton and Kane makes plenty of sense.

It also means things in the WWE are about to change with branding.

While the "Big Red Machine" is strong and powerful, he may not be a match for the "Apex Predator."

Having Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania Is Never a Bad Thing

8 of 8

You cannot disagree with the idea of Michaels being involved in a WrestleMania event.

Michaels being involved in the "Hell in a Cell" match may be more important than Triple H and Undertaker.

He is that important to this business.

How the match turns out really depends on what Michaels has to say about it.
