WWE Rumors: The Undertaker, The Rock, John Cena and Thursday's Top WWE News

Adam WellsJun 6, 2018

There is so little in wrestling and WWE today that actually remains a mystery because of the Internet.

Vince McMahon tries to throw fans for a loop from time to time, but for the most part, you can tell everything that will happen before it does if you want to.

Still, WrestleMania has a little sense of mystery. We all know that The Undertaker is going to beat Triple H, but other than that, the top matches could go in either direction.

Mystery is all over this year's big show, but we are here to help make your anticipation for that event a little easier to bear with some other news and notes to tide you over until April 1.

THE UNDERTAKER'S FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHTER

While talk of retirement has surrounded Undertaker for a few years, it appears that he is not in any hurry to walk away from WWE right now. Considering the schedule that he works, it's not hard to imagine why.

Question on Everybody's Mind: How many more years will The Streak be on the line?

Our Take: While 20 always seemed like a good number to walk away from, I will split the difference between 20 and 25, and say that he will make it to 23. Three more Manias after this year before the Deadman walks away.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Shiny Urns

This actually works out better for WWE and Undertaker. As a special attraction once a year, his matches will feel more special. It is going to be increasingly hard to find stars to match up with him, though there is that Brock fella who has nothing to do next year.

WWE BOOKING CENA AS ROCK'S EQUAL

In the worst-kept secret of WrestleMania season, WWE is going to do whatever it takes to make John Cena look as strong as—if not stronger—than Rock to turn the crowd against the Great One in Miami.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will this strategy work?

Our Take: Hell no! Aside from the fact that Cena never gets cheered at WrestleMania, this is Rock's first singles match back after eight years and it is in his hometown of Miami. It's a nice idea by WWE, but one that won't end well come showtime.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Undecided Crowds

In the scheme of things, why does it matter who the crowd is cheering for at WrestleMania? As long as Rock and Cena are able to deliver a match that is worthy of being the main event, that's all that should matter.

CHRIS JERICHO'S FUTURE UP IN THE AIR

With a WWE championship match against CM Punk on the horizon, there are lingering questions about just how long Chris Jericho is going to be with WWE. Recent reports have him joining his band Fozzy in the studio in the near future.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Is WrestleMania going to be the end of the world?

Our Take: Jericho is not likely to walk out of the show with the WWE title, so it stands to reason that could be the last time we see him—at least for a period of time. He could return for a match at SummerSlam, and work a sporadic schedule.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5

Jericho has kept a busy schedule since leaving wrestling in 2010, so it is not a shock to hear that he could be walking away soon after coming back. Whether he comes back is a different story entirely, but given history, it should not be ruled out.

RIC FLAIR'S HALL OF FAME STATUS STILL UNCLEAR

With the Four Horsemen going into the WWE Hall of Fame, Ric Flair is reportedly still waiting to get word from his current employer, TNA, to attend the ceremony and speak with his old running mates.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Can the Four Horsemen go in without Flair?

Our Take: It will be hard to envision a scenario where the rest of the group is standing on stage, speaking about the history of the group and their respective careers, without the Nature Boy. WWE may have backed itself into a corner with this one.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Limousine Rides

Even though TNA does so many things wrong, it would be perfectly within its rights to prevent one of its employees from drawing money for the "other" promotion. Do you think Vince McMahon would let one of his workers appear on another company's event to make them money?
