WWE News: WWE Reportedly Interested in Acquiring Top ROH Tag Team

Drake OzJun 6, 2018

The WWE might be the only major wrestling promotion in the world where you can see a Triple Threat tag match that features almost every duo in the tag team division.

When we watched that three-way bout between Epico/Prico, R-Truth/Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler/Jack Swagger on Monday’s Raw, we were witnessing 75 percent of the tag division in action, with the only team that was left out being the Usos.

That’s obviously a big problem, one that WWE officials finally seem to be noticing.

WWE officials have expressed interest in acquiring Jay and Mark Briscoe, but they are both under contract to Ring of Honor.

Woah, woah, woah. Hold on now. Could the WWE actually be trying to improve its tag team division?

Couple this news with the news that broke earlier this week concerning the tag team formerly known as the Kings of Wrestling, and it certainly appears that way.

And it’s about damn time.

I actually found it rather comical when watching Monday’s Raw and realizing that the WWE somehow can’t seem to create a formidable tag team division, despite the fact that it has dozens upon dozens of talented superstars on the main roster.

It’s no secret that tag team wrestling isn’t exactly a priority in the WWE, however, and that’s made the division barely matter over the last few years. The Briscoes, however, could be one hell of an answer to the tag division’s prayers.

Look these guys up on YouTube, and you’ll see just how talented they are and how much they could immediately contribute to tag team wrestling in the WWE.

The major holdup, however, is that the Briscoes—who have tried out for the WWE before—are still under contract to Ring of Honor. But the WWE should wait until that’s no longer the case and scoop these guys up.

Lord knows the WWE needs to rejuvenate its tag team division, and the Briscoes would do just that.

But don't get too excited about potentially seeing them in WWE soon. According to PWTorch.com (via WrestleNewz.com), ROH will prevent that from happening.
