What They're Saying

Dwyane Wade’s foul that broke Kobe's nose at the All-Star Game might, unfortunately, be the most memorable thing about the exhibition.

According to Mike Bresnahan of The Los Angeles Times, a number of Lakers players are upset about it.

"

Bryant has not spoken to reporters since the game Sunday but plenty has been said about the play by Wade, which took place a few minutes into the third quarter.

'We were at an All-Star game. I don't understand what that was all about,' Bynum said Tuesday. 'It's crazy.'

Added Gasol: 'I think it was out of place, out of line for the moment of the game that it was. I don't think [Wade] intended to break his nose...but again, I don't think it was the place to foul like that.'

Wade told reporters he sent Bryant an apologetic message.

'It's all I can do,' he said. 'He knows it's no ill intent of me to do that to him. Talk about me for taking the foul, but I never wanted that kind of outcome.'

"

Most Important Player to Watch: Andrew Bynum

If Bynum is truly healthy, as he is reported to be, he should be an absolute force against the T’Wolves' relatively weak front line.

The 7' center put up 21 points and seven rebounds last time his team played Minnesota and will have to contribute even more if Kobe cannot go.

He should have no problem doing so against the likes of Nikola Pekovic, Kevin Love (if healthy) and Darko Milicic.

Key Matchup: Point Guard

The Timberwolves have one of the best young point guards in the game in Ricky Rubio, while the Lakers are employing Derek Fisher, one of the oldest and slowest still around.

That’s a distinct advantage that Minny must exploit to win, and Los Angeles must figure out a way to defend the young Spaniard before the Lakers get too far behind.

Prediction

Lakers 95, Timberwolves 94
