WWE News: The Rock's Return Has Saved John Cena's Career
For all the talk about what was written on his wrist, The Rock has somehow, someway managed to do the impossible: Save John Cena from himself and the WWE creative team.
Before the build to WrestleMania kicked off, Cena was locked in one of the lamest, goofiest feuds in recent memory with Kane, Zack Ryder and Eve. The idea of embracing the hate was idiotic to begin with, and it got compounded the more it played out on television.
Even before that feud, Cena was adrift. He obviously didn't care about anything that he was doing in the ring or on the microphone. His promos were so bad, with lame comedy that no one laughed at, and making the talent around him look even worse.

Cena is supposed to be the biggest star in WWE today, but even he didn't have the energy or resolve to make his character interesting anymore. The fans could sense it—well, the men did—and started rooting against him more than they ever had before.
Yet here we are, 33 days before WrestleMania and two weeks into the build for one of the biggest matches in WWE history, and for the first time in years, Cena is on top of his game.
So, what has changed?
The Rock, of course.
Cena is putting his all into this feud with Rock because he knows what it can do for his career and how important it is for WWE.
Instead of trying bad jokes and sell the match on gimmicks, these two titans of the wrestling industry have created a human angle. Cena doesn't like Rock for his own reasons, and vice versa.
Without Rock, there is no telling where Cena would be headed. He has the perfect opponent and stage to get back some of the credibility he lost due to years of bad feuds and terrible promos.
Does it really signify some career turnaround for Cena? It is impossible to say because we don't know how he is going to act after Rock leaves and he will go back to feuding with stars like The Miz.
For these six weeks that we are getting to see Cena and Rock exchange real promos that cut to the heart of their rivalry and why we should care about it, everything is roses.
Rock has brought out the best in Cena, and the fans are better off for it.
