WWE: Please Give Us Daniel Bryan and CM Punk Without Any Interruptions
If we could just get one clean match from the two of these guys, we would have magic!
I am growing tired of interruptions in the matches between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. And right now, I could care less about the significance of Teddy Long and John Laurinaitis arguing over SmackDown and Raw unless there is a deeper meaning to it, like the elimination of brands and the retirement of the World Heavyweight Title.
But seriously, two of the best performers in the business today and the two title holders (I have been clamoring for title vs. title for some time) and we get this kind of crap? It makes no sense.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The WWE has been working with house money lately of bringing together great feuds that will rock WrestleMania 28, but when they are offered a chance to give fans a great match, they fall short on the concept.
You do not screw something like this up!
You do not take away from what could be a Ric Flair/Ricky Steamboat situation. You don’t step on Superman’s cape, and you certainly do not take away from a “match of the year” type of event.
Punk and Bryan are veterans who have traveled the roads together from independent and ROH days, and capitalization on this would be huge. I can deal with the interference from a Sheamus or a Chris Jericho, because they are subplots to events in the future.
In fact, a tag team of all four men should be on the horizon if protocol in the WWE means anything. This usually happens around PPV time, and it involves world titles.
Punk needs more challengers. So does Bryan. Big Show only takes you so far, and the banter between “David and Goliath” is awful. Punk and Jericho have a great ebb and flow about them, and the wrestling will be one of the greatest WrestleMania matches of all time if done correctly.
But the interference of managers like this should be done in another setting and with better combatants (maybe have Punk and Bryan square off for the rights to brand recognition that also involves the winner choosing their own general manager).
But that is for another time and another place. It is for another setting and another pay-per-view. And it certainly has no place in a match with as much chutzpah, magnitude and style as one involving our current WWE champions.
The thought of it being tarnished is beyond comprehension and shouldn’t even be considered.
We cry all the time for greatness in wrestling. We have seen it in the past with Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Brett Hart and Arn Anderson. Now we have a chance to see it again, and it is being saturated with other minutiae that really means nothing to the event itself.
Just let them wrestle. Everything else should be able to take care of itself. This is an event that should show us that wrestling really matters after all.
