Terrell Owens Shines in His Indoor Football League Debut
While everyone had their eyes fixated on the city of Orlando for NBA All-Star Saturday night, there was another big event that was taking place in the Allen Event Center.
You are currently probably wondering what the Allen Event Center is.
The Allen Event Center is the home of the Allen Wranglers, the new team of future NFL Hall of Fame inductee Terrell Owens.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Saturday night in the city of Allen, Texas, Owens began what he hopes to be the road back to the NFL. He couldn't have started that road off much better.
In his NFL career, Owens had a remarkable 156 touchdowns, which ranks fourth in the NFL all-time, behind only the likes of Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith and LaDainian Tomlinson. Owens also ranks second all-time in receiving yards with 15,394 and ranks sixth in receptions with 1,078, but another season in the NFL could put Owens in the top three for all-time receptions.
In Saturday night's game against the Wichita Wild, Owens recorded only three catches, but remarkably each catch resulted in a touchdown. Owens was therefore 3-for-3 with 53 yards receiving. It was an extremely productive night for the 38-year-old Owens, who is approximately eight months removed from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
If you happened to see any of the game, you may have also noticed Owens on the defensive side of the ball as well, something we have not seen from him in the NFL. Owens recorded two tackles from his position at defensive end.
When asked about his performance at halftime, Owens responded, "I thought I did alright. I think we should have had more points on the board. From an overall team standpoint, we had too many penalties and obviously we have to do better in that department offensively and defensively."
In his contract, Owens is required to play in all home games, while road games are optional. Terrell will sit out the next two road games, but could be back in action on March 17 when the Wranglers take on the Colorado Ice. He will definitely be on the field for the Wranglers' next home game on March 31.
Even though Owens has been known throughout his career to be a show-off and a bit of a proverbial "thorn in the side" of his quarterbacks and teammates, Owens has been one of the greatest receivers in NFL history throughout his 15-year career.
It would be awesome to see the former superstar receiver resurrect his NFL career, and get back in the league to possibly win a championship, and end his career on his own terms instead of having it ended by injuries.
The road ahead for Owens could be a long one, but he could not have gotten it started off much better than what he did tonight.
Maybe we will see him in an NFL jersey in the not-so-distant future.
