NHL Trade Rumors: New York Rangers Should Shift Their Focus to Dustin Brown

Jeff ChaseJun 1, 2018

The New York Rangers are still standing tall above the rest of the Eastern Conference, but that hasn't stopped the team from making an effort to grab one last stud to make a serious push for this year's Stanley Cup.

One player in particular that they are sure to have their eyes on is Los Angeles Kings right wing Dustin Brown.

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Rangers are reportedly one of many teams that are interested in acquiring the services of Brown.

There have been reports that have connected the Rangers to Columbus Blue Jackets winger Rick Nash, but with Brown on the scene, the team should just focus on that potential deal.

Both players would be solid additions to the Rangers, but the cost of Nash could be much higher given he has had a relatively more productive season.

The Rangers are not in serious need of a wing player, but the addition of another solid guy behind their current line could be some nice insurance heading into the playoffs.

Brown has 11 less points than Nash at this point in the season, so the Kings likely won't be demanding as much as the Blue Jackets are for their former No. 1 overall pick.

Either way, the team is going to have to give up something. With their position heading into the postseason, they would be wise to give up as little as possible.
