WWE News: Shaquille O'Neal Confirms Again He'll Be Wrestling at WrestleMania 28

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

No one seems to know for sure what’s going on between Shaquille O’Neal and the WWE.

Reports have been circulating the Internet for months now that Shaq would be getting in the ring with The Big Show (in some way, shape or form) at WrestleMania 28, and Shaq himself has said on a number of occasions that he’ll be competing at the pay-per-view.

But WWE.com published an article denying that that was the case, even though Shaq maintains he’ll be wrestling in Miami. What’s gone somewhat under the radar, however, is Shaq claiming yet again that he’s WrestleMania bound.

Although WWE.com stated Tuesday that Shaquille O’Neal would not be competing at WrestleMania XXVIII, the 15-time NBA All-Star appeared on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike in the Morning Wednesday stating that he would.

OK, so clearly the WWE is trying to “keep this a surprise,” but it’s time to just bring Shaq to WWE TV already.

Shaq has absolutely nothing to gain by lying about his involvement at WrestleMania 28, so it’s pretty clear that he’s going to be competing at the PPV, whether that’s in a singles match or some kind of tag team bout.

Given that the WWE has recently started a feud between The Big Show and Cody Rhodes, I think it’s unlikely that we’ll see Show and Shaq compete against each other in a singles match, especially when you consider that Show is still a baby face and that Shaq will almost assuredly be a face in the WWE as well.

I could actually see a situation where Big Show and Shaq work as a team against Cody Rhodes and another superstar or perhaps even another celebrity in a tag team match. Or something along those lines.

But it’s time for the WWE to stop pretending like Shaq isn’t going to be in a WWE ring come WrestleMania time. It’s pretty clear that he is.
